A 25 year old TE in the second round and no drafted QB to sit and learn? Went from an A+ first round down to a B.

Fine with all the picks except 2nd round. Don’t see how that’s an upgrade over what we have. We lost our shot with the TEs that were difference makers, maybe would have been time to draft an OG, RB, or the theme of the day… keep improving the Front 7.

That's an excellent point about counting the veterans Cooks and Gilmore. Those were originally this year's draft picks.

I graded them a C on the draft alone. I'm willing to go B- on the total value of all the draft picks used in either trading or drafting players this weekend.

I can't do better than that because i think they did waste some draft value.by reaching a few times. I think they could have traded down a few times and still got the guys they did.

Also, they never consider drafting a QB with a day #1 or day #2 pick and they should really create some competition. I still think Dak should start this season but it would be nice to have an alternative should Dak's performance or health go in an unfortunate direction.

Not saying I want it to happen! At the very least, the competition should make them both better QB's. It would also provide options in the future.

Absolutely an A in my book. I had some doubts at first, but after watching several tapes on each player, oh yeah, I see things much clearer and see why the Cowboys picked ever player in this 2023 draft. Each player has very good upside and fills a spot of need. Definitely an A draft.

I think the draft picks used on veteran players should be added in to that year's draft. Otherwise where did those picks go?

So feel free to add in Brandin Cooks, Stephon Gilmore and Johnathan Hankins if you want. Or don't, if you don't agree with me. It's your call.

If you want to add a + or - to your grade post it in the thread. Too many options for a poll.

1(26) Mazi Smith DT Michigan
2(58) Luke Schoonmaker TE Michigan
3(90) DeMarvion Overshown LB Texas
4(129) Viliami Fehoko DE San Jose St.
5(169) Asim Richards T North Carolina
6(178) Eric Scott Jr. CB Southern Miss
6(212) Deuce Vaughn RB Kansas St.
7(244) Jalen Brooks WR South Carolina
Lost 2024 5th Round Pick (Kansas City)
Interesting pattern to me - none of the little fellers til round 6. 3 linemen and 2 mid size positions with TE and LB.

One bummer this year - no bonanza of comp picks. Seems like we've had multiple extra picks for years.

B, if we include the Gilmore and Cooks trades.

I like the addition of Mazi, Deuce and Fehoko. Lupke and Cropper are nice UDFA additions as well.

Yah this was very underwhelming overall. NO guard, not even a RB? This was completely puzzling. Like Mazi and even the TE if they were going to continue on the run game theme.

These clowns obviously think they are going to dominate the NFL in the run game with Pollard, Jones, and this ancient flawed Oline?

Scary stuff.
Steele, Tyler, Badacz, and Richards are ancient? Mighty Mouse (Vaughn) is just a mascot. You really look at the Cowboys with a negative lense.

C. Passing on Torrence was a major blunder. I like that they went for a DT at 1 but I have major misgivings about how good he's going to be. I think the TE will be solid. Deuce was a nice pickup.

It was a super-stanky draft class, so lots of teams are going to be disappointed.

Still thought Dallas could have found a bit more, so my grade was 'C'.

We'll only see in time.

A terrible draft. Did zero to improve the offense. Dan Quinn's influence is starting to remind me of Marinelli.

Dallas fans will still applaud Will McClay as some genius yet the Eagles front office runs circles around him. They outclassed us this entire offseason.

Will McClay is terrible after round 1.
I disagree, but that’s why we’re here, right? I think the blocking TE on the right side will help the run game. I also think Jones will impact more than many think, and Deuce will become our Darren Sproles. The WR group got a definite boost with Cooks, and I expect more from Tolbert, Ferguson and Hendershot, with a return to form for Gallup. The OL looks more solid, and the McCarthy playcalling SHOULD yield more common sense.

Can’t wait to see it.

Jalen Carter will have one good year, then end up:
A. Suspended
B. Dead, perhaps along with the fools that hang out with him.
C. Incarcerated
D. Beat up by fellow players and coaches that hate him so much

Do like some of their other picks.

Right now it's a eh. I don't hate it or like it. Much like Smith last yr for me after the draft. Turned out great.  B

2(58) Luke Schoonmaker TE Michigan

This is just what they typically do in the 2nd round. Reach and get bit. There are exception like Diggs but this ain't one of them times.  D

3(90) DeMarvion Overshown LB Texas

I really like this pick, he was night and day from 21 to 22. He got the exp learning lber and it showed. If he had another yr in college he'd be a rd 1 pick coming out.  A

4(129) Viliami Fehoko DE San Jose St.

Another pick i liked. You can play him SDE, annd slide him inside. Like they go with gholston. Depth is huge.  C

5(169) Asim Richards T North Carolina

I'm sure they drafted him to develop at G. Why not just draft a Guard. Simetimes you can get too cute in these developmental players you want to switch to another spot. This team does this too much.  D

6(178) Eric Scott Jr. CB Southern Miss

At first I didn't like it, watched some vs videos and he plays faster than his timed speed, but apparently he hurt himself running.  C

6(212) Deuce Vaughn RB K St

Really like this pick. Simply because he reminds me of Joe Morris. Tiny guy but never ran small.  B

7(244) Jalen Brooks WR South Carolina

eh i like udfa Cropper more. F

A - 4
B - 3
C - 2
D - 1
F - 0

TOTAL 16
8 PICKS

GRADE C
