My nephew's graduating high school next week, so I have to get a check in the mail. How much are kids getting these days? $50 or so?

We give $5,000, you freaking cheap ***! Cough it up! :muttley:

Actually, it usually depends on who it is we are giving it too. Our kids got about $250 and we bought some other stuff. My brothers daughters we gave $100. Outside of family probably $50.

I did this high school graduation thing last Saturday and gave my nephew $50 for 4 years of his efforts.

If I were a counterfeiter, I'd fork over that amount. $50 sounds about right. If he's anything like his mother, he'll blow it on bubblegum and David Cassidy records.

I don't even want to know the answer to this......$50 is about what I got from my aunts, uncles, and grandparents....at least the ones that gave a damn.

I'm certain the standard rate is much higher now.

I was informed by a colleague of mine that the going rate for a lost tooth these days is $25-50. I almost **** my pants. In fact, I DID **** my pants.

Any kids I raise are going to have to accept at an early age that they aren't getting that type of swag from me....along with the other obvious detractions of being raised by me. :)

I remember when I did household chores, I was paid 1 dollar a week. While my friends were making something like 10 bucks.

I'm pretty sure the going rate for chores nowadays is 20 bucks a week.

I'd give an IOU. Just as good as cash.
