^WOW. I suggest to you to watch more Carolina games, seriously.

Why? So I can learn what I already know. I have watched plenty of Panthers games and watch Peppers. He is a physical freak, but that does not make him faster or more agile than Ware. Peppers is a great combination of size and speed, but there are a few faster guys with Ware being one of them. There are probably a couple of bigger guys too, but they don't have any speed or agility.

Ellis had more than Glover. I'm not saying Ellis would be some stud DE but I do think had he seen more help he would have posted better numbers than he has over this career. If you feel otherwise that's fine.

I was just joking around. I agree that Ellis could have had better numbers had he played with someone better than Ekuban and Wiley at the other side. I never saw him as a guy that was going to constantly be in the double digits or have monster sack totals(16 or higher).

Sorry for the mis-understanding. I do agree with you that Ellis was never going to be one of the league leaders in sacks but I think he would have put up better numbers had he played with better talent around him.

Ware is faster and quicker then Peppers. Peppers is bigger and stronger.
One is a 4-3 DE, one is a 3-4 OLB. ANyone claiming Peppers is more agile and faster then ware is a flat out moron.

Ware has 20 sacks in 2 years. works out to 10 sacks a year. Freeny has 56 sacks in 5 years. 11 per year. Ware does more then Freeny does. I can see Ware wanting a contract of similiar size in 2 years.

I don't know about this. I'm just not on the Peppers bandwagon. He is a freakish athlete and can do some amazing things, he just seems to get lost for long periods of time during the season. He is just not consistent, he either has an amazing game or seems like he isn't even there, like in the Dallas game last yearr. Look at last year, he started off the season great, then disappeared for the rest of the season over the last 10 games. During that span he had 5 sacks in 10 games and all of those came in 2 games. That means in 8 of his last 10 games he had ZERO sacks. Also, look at his tackles, they went downhill also, as well as his teams record. The best defensive player in the league should show up every week, not just here and there.

Name a better DE than Peppers. I guarantee you there are a large number of people who think Peppers is the best defensive PLAYER in the league.

If you watch Sportscenter enough, you would think he is the best; however we have many die hard Panther fans here that are season ticket holders that notice he doesn't show up sometimes. Just go back and watch the Boys game last year and watch how he was taken out of the game by Columbo, virtually by himself.

I don't see as much of Carolina as you but what you describe is the case with every defensive player in the league -- there isn't a single guy who is dominant every game.

Jason Taylor was awsome last year and won DPOY - yet he had two games without a single solo tackle and several other pedestrian outings. Shawne Merriman who was cheating also had a few of those games.

Guys just don't dominate every single game.

You are correct, there is no other DE I would rather have in the league right now, not even Freeney. I was just responding to him being the best defensive player in the league. He is very inconsistent, that is all I am trying to say.

I agree - he is the best DE in the league and IMO, the one key position on defense and the hardest to fill is a FORCE at DE. Peppers is a force.

If I'm a def. coordinator, and I am revamping a defense and have one free pick, it's Peppers.
