Randall was drafted for a reason.

Yeah but he's unproven just like Terrance Williams. Except WR also has Miles Austin and you have Jason Witten to throw to. And nobody knows if Joseph Randle is good enough to be a good backup let alone a starter.

I'm going to say that Dez is more important to the success of the team. He has the potential to be an elite player, and is a more proven commodity than is Murray. Over the past few years, the idea that RB's are a dime-a-dozen has proven to be more and more true.

A healthy productive Murray running for 1200-1300 yards would be infinitely more helpful in terms of team success than Dez gaining 1500-1600 yards next season (as opposed to Dez's numbers remaining the same from last season).

Dez putting up 1500-1600 yards in 2013 will probably equal somewhere around 15-17 TD's. Dez has a much better chance of putting up 1500-1600 receiving yards than Murray does running for 1200-1300 yards with his lack of durability behind what has been a very weak run blocking OL. Dez has a real nose for the end zone scoring 27 TD's the past 3 seasons which is one of the tops in the league. He could very easily sniff 20 TD's with 1600 receiving yards.

You have to put points on the board to win games and rushing for a lot of yards doesn't always correlate into a lot of points. Peterson rushed for almost 2100 yards last season but only scored 11 rushing TD's. Back in the day when it was ground and pound Emmitt put up 56 rushing TD's from 94 to 96. Murray putting up 1200-1300 yards would definitely improve the team but I just don't see him staying healthy enough to put up that many yards behind an OL that has been struggling for several years.

I would have to sat Dez because he is a game breaker. We don't have anyone on the roster who can do what Dez does. Not many people in the league can do what he does.

Murray is important too but I think his success is based on the improvement of the offensive line, also the other running backs on this team will play well if the O-line does too. Both are going to be big factor this year though

RB is more important than WR simply because there are no 4 RB sets. You better have a good one.

That said... if someone made me pick which one I would want, I would take Dez.

Why do people not look at these stats? Spin them any way you want, the facts are the facts. The NFL is a different game. The running game equates to nothing now days I know the purist don't like it, but it's just the way it is...Here are the last 5 years Superbowl winning teams....Ravens 11th in Rushing, Rice 1143 yards,,,,,Giant's 32nd in rushing, Bradshaw 659 yards,,,,,Packers 24th in Rushing, Jackson 703 yards,,,,,Saints 6th in Rushing, Thomas 608 yards,,,,, Steelers 24th in Rushing, Parker 791.. Now here are the top rushing teams in the last 5 years: Washington, Denver, KC, NYJ, Giants, None of which were close to winning the the Superbowl those years.

Now, I know a balance would be nice. Tony doesn't need to throw the ball 30-50 times a game. And If Murray put up 1000 yards, it would mean he were healthy most of the year and that the OL was playing better. But for anyone to say DM needs to run for 1400-1600 yards, or he needs to "compete for the rushing title" or that he needs to duplicate #22's performances from the 90's is nonsense...Injury prone RB's are a dime a dozen. I love DM when healthy but that's usually not too long. DEZ has the potential to be the #1 freekin WR in the NFL, and the most important leader on this team since the playmaker.....

Dez is more important to the Cowboys. Demarco having a monster year would be more a product of the offensive line stepping up their game and opening holes for whatever Rb is behind the line. You can find 20 Running backs that can give you Demarco Murray production. You can count with one hand how many Wr's can give what Dez brings to the table.

Dez and it's not even close.

Dez because he is the most talented player on the entire team and the biggest game breaker we posses (offensively). I'm surprised this is even a question.

Dez. The league's rules are all about passing. A running game is nice, but not required.
