I know that the above draft history spans a number of coaching regimes, but does anyone know if there are any scouting personnel that have been dedicated to OL recruiting for part or most of this period? I know that there are national guys and regional guys and there has been some turnover in the latter ranks recently, but I wonder if the team would benefit from hiring someone off of Denver's staff ect. to help with OL candidate analysis?

from the time BP came in to now I think we have had almost a 100% turnover in our scouting staff- that is 10 years almost. But it is an interesting question.

When a team fails in one particular area over that time period it seems to me there is some kind of systemic problem. It has been mentioned in the past that the Boys always rate O linemen lower then most other NFL teams; and if that is the case that is a real flaw in our system.

2003-Present

These are the players we have drafted on the Oline (not including the first round T.Smith).

David Arkin
Bill Nagy
Sam Young
Robert Brewster
Doug Free
James Marten
EJ Whitley
Pat McQuistan
Rob Petitti
Stephen Peterman
Jacob Rogers
Justin Bates
Al Johnson

With this team and taking an olinemen after the 1st round...there is plenty of reason to panic because their 10 year history says so.

Can't let that mentality stop you from trying to get them in other rounds, we have found a few in the second, Gurode,Adams, and Peterman was for another team that we got in the third.

I am not saying draft only in rounds 2-4 but this draft in particular is the right one to feel better about doing it.

This oline only in 1st round or we are screwed mentality is a dangerous way to draft, you have to be ready to take something else, safety, Dline, etc.
