" In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. "--Paris Hilton

I heard this quote on the radio and just busted a gut. I don't care about the story, but you can't make up a line like that.

Paris Hilton checks into LA jail

Paris Hilton turned herself in to Sheriff's authorities Sunday night.

After turning herself over to the authorities the blonde beauty is behind bars at a county jail in Lynwood. Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says the heiress has been "cooperative and calm" since her arrival reports TMZ.

Whitmore says Hilton has been booked and fingerprinted and will be spending the rest of the night in a cell by herself.

The spokesman added, "She'll be fine ... if she follows the rules."

Paris said in a statement released by her lawyer Richard A. Hutton at
11.20pm: "I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. During
the past few weeks I have had a lot of time to think and have come to
realize I made some mistakes.

"This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for
my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the
decisions I make. I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their
continued support. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail
sentence."

Before handing herself in to the authorities Paris made a brief appearance
at Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards.

At the start of the Movie Awards. Host Sarah Silverman took some shots at the heiress in her opening monologue. When she announced to the audience, "In a couple of days, Paris Hilton is going to jail," the crowd roared with approval.

"The judge says that it's going to be a no-frills thing and that is ridiculous. She is totally going to get special treatment," Silverman said.

"As a matter of fact, I heard that to make her feel more comfortable in prison, the guards are going to paint the bars to look like penises. I think it's wrong, too. I just worry that she's going to break her teeth on those things."

The camera panned to Hilton, who was sitting in the audience and looked like she was going to cry.

The comedian made an apologetic face. "Oh sweetie," Silverman said, trailing off.

Then, as the crowd's applause grew even louder, Silverman shrugged and asked, "Wow, why do I feel dirty?"

Her 'pink' carpet appearance followed a busy weekend of partying to mark her
last days of freedom.

On Friday night, Hilton and her sister Nicky hit L.A. club Les Deux, where, according to a fellow club-goer, Hilton appeared in "a wonderful mood" and was "smiling ear to ear," reports US Magazine

Sheriff Lee Baca who runs California's Century Regional Detention Facility
in Lynwood, where Paris is serving her time, stated authorities must not
allow the socialite to "be seen in handcuffs or in the back of a police car,
forlorn and in handcuffs" on her way to prison.

He said: "Jails are not circuses and not places where 'fun' is the priority.
Jail should be a corrective learning experience."

Now you know why the show was called the simple life.

Priceless.

I'll give it a week...I just cannot see them making he stay all that long.

She is not in general population. She is in a special circumstances unit. This unit she will be locked in her cell for 23 hours a day. She gets out for 1 hour to use the phone or to go outside.

If she were in genpop. I could see her getting out in a week, because they are so over crowded. Since she is not, I do see her doing the full term.

BTW: Her cellie is a convicted DWI repeat offender

I am sure they will get along just fine.

Sarah Silverman may be the 2nd funniest woman alive.

Did you see Silverman roast her at the MTV movie awards last night? It was hilarious!

The video is linked on gorillamask.net. I won't link it since Sarah uses some bad words... but it's a riot to see her burn Paris with the skank sitting right in the audience.

I missed it and the link on youtube seems to be down.

Silverman destroyed her...it was a riot to see Paris' face during the whole thing.

Or...the least funniest woman alive. Saw "Jesus is Magic," it was probably the worst comedic performance I've ever watched. Just saying shocking things is not funny. It can be, though, just apparently not by her.

MTV is being like uber-**** with keeping those clips off youtube. check all of em, chances are you'll find one that is new and hasn't been taken down yet.

Not just MTV...it seems a great deal of channels or shows are doing this as well.

Oh well it is their content so I can't blame them but still it sucks to someone who just wants that one clip and not have to watch the show itself.

On a side note.

With this quote I wonder if Joe Theezman will be her next boyfriend. They could come up with some good sayings. :laugh2:
