hope so i dont think he had a tackle in the run game last night
Considering there was only 9 to be had I doubt anybody had a lot of tackles in the run game last night. The other team threw it 66 times and got sacked 3 others. That's 70 pass rushes.. That meant a lot of being pushed inside to "rush" DT for Lawrence. He aint built for 50-60 snaps inside like that. But he did his job just fine.

Stats don't always tell the story. His presence and effort on the field is what makes him a necessary cog in the wheel of the DL. Quinn would have a much more difficult job without him.
I do recall at least two run plays early on where the Bucs tried to run his way and he was there waiting for the back which led to the back trying to cut back in where the inside guys blew it up for a loss.

He is what he has always been. He is a fine player. He is in it for the money. He is a negative value contract. He is a poor leader.

Well, they couldn't run it and I'm guessing he had something to do with that. He just didn't make splash plays.

Hes a defensive end and playing on the Dline sometimes means no stats

it means holding containment on the edge and keeping linemen off the LBs and he did his job tonight

cant always go off stats for that position

I saw him on one play chase Brady and slip and fall allowing Brady to get that little shovel pass off down the sideline. Otherwise nowhere to be found.

He needs to be visible Sunday because Parsons/Armstrong will be facing off against Trent Williams.

Parsons is way too fast for Williams.. If they don't let him get that half a beat head start like they did last year or let him blatantly hold Parsons will live in their backfield and Purdy will go to bed that night seeing #11 in his dreams. If I'm McCarthy I show film of all the times Williams' drop step preceded the snap last year in the playoff game and talking the refs' ears off about it before and during the game.

This weeks game is where D-Law will be big. Stopping the run is going to priority number 1 and he is one of the best on the edge. He's not your 10-15 sack type of end any more. Yes that means he is currently over paid. Run stuffing defensive ends should be cheaper than guys who sack the QB.
This week is where you see D-law get burned by misdirection a few times for the game. It is just what he does! You can count on it. The reason he plays the run so well from the backside is because he does not maintain his responsibility on his side!

ya i think less than 10 but i hope hes more disruptive against San Fran regardless of how many times they run
He needs to be it can't only be Parsons all the time. It's going to take all hands on deck to beat this team.

I cant remember his name being called. seen him in the vicinity a couple of times but we are going to need more from him moving forward he seems like an after thought

He's around. He slipped and fell after pursuing Brady out of the pocket. I think he got excited trying to log a sack on that play..

Could be his foot, though.

Disagree that he's overpaid. What he brings has a lot of value. He's been paid well, for sure. But IMO, he earned during his time here by doing what's asked of him, despite it not being all that sexy.

Also means he did make any mistakes to cost his team the game or hurt their chances. Like why Maher is being talked about more than he has been all year long

He takes on blockers and frees up the LBers, I watched a clear example of that when they ran a counter to his side and Fourtnet was behind the blockers, Law took ln the guard and LVE made the tackle. I'm sure if we could watch the tape there are more plays like that trough out the game.

He is important to the run defense, I prefer for him to not show up in sacks and pressures but to contain the edge, when he is too eager for a sack they ran all over his side as philly did on the first game.

Was a complete no show stat wise yesterday. Don't know how many pressures he got...if any.

Definitely needs to step up against the niners.
Both of you should know better than this? I know the rest of the world is stay hungry fantasy players, but seriously you both know that in DQ’s defense stats don’t mean a damn thing!! Their offense was shut down, DLAW was a huge part of that!!!
