Greatest Cowboys Run of All Time

OK boys...what is the greatest run of Cowboys history?

Some may be doubly surprised by my first candidate:
-It isn't Emmitt, Zeke or Dorsett, but from Marion the Barbarian Barber
-It only gains two yards!
-He spends half the run in his own end-zone!

The greatness factor is that literally 7 or 8 Patriots get a hand on him and nobody can put him on the ground.

Shame he seemed to have some lingering issues from playing the game. I met him at a card show and he was very quiet and never looked anyone in the eye.

I could be wrong but I think he's just a very shy guy and always has been.

It for sure wasn't THAT one. Dorsett's 99yd TD run against the Vikings is the ONLY answer.

Barber was at his best when used as a closer or relief for the starter when the opponent defense was fatigued. He could use his physical, aggressive style to punish defenses. In the 4th quarter he could break the back of an opponent.

However, his physical style came with a price, he never had the stamina to become a complete back. Once again, Jerry Jones misevaluated his abilities and overpayed on a new contract.

Parcells used him perfectly, Jones ruined him and detrimented the Cowboy's ability to build success off the team that Parcells built.

That run happened about 30 yards in front of me.

One of the best, James Washington's 2nd half fumble return versus the Bills.

Watched that return in the middle of a drunken orgy of Cowboy fans, it was beautiful. Honestly it seemed to last forever, like he was running in slow motion, i'll never forget it.

Team really needed it, set the tone for the rest of the game. Love me some James Washington.

But that Dorsett run wouldn't even make my top 10. It just didn't show much running skill aside from speed.

Absolutely. Barber's running style was brutal but fun to watch! Stylistically he ran a little bit like walter payton.

Another vote for Dorsett's 99 yard run. Duane Thomas also had numerous amazing runs in Super Bowl 6.

First thing that came to mind, I think it was a Monday night game against Chicago, where Emmitt got lost in a pile in the second level and somehow popped out and scored.

The Walker run was better than the Dorsett run because the play looked bottled up. It wasn't blocked well.

The success of the play is almost entirely due to Herschel's abilities.
