My personal favorite was Walker with a long run in overtime to beat the Patriots in 1987. Game wasn't on tv so I had to listen on my car radio. Screamed so loud the neighbors heard me.

All Dorsetts TD runs were a thing of beauty
I never saw a more smooth, gliding style.

He was a very underrated runner as far as physicallity goes. His best runs were down the middle. He also had some great runs off catching the ball.

The best run in history? Wow! Don't know, so many different styles.

Beleive it or not, my pick is the Herschel Walker 85 yard run against the Eagles. He was in the backfield, surrounded by 5 Eagles.

As big as he was, he had Olympic speed, he made an amazing move, got through the line, and created space between himself and the fastest Eagle defenders, turned a seemingly 5 yard loss into an 85 yard TD...virtually untouched.

Go to youtube and search "Herschell Walkers longest Cowboy TD".

Also on the list:

Tony Dorsett 99 yard run....with only 10 men on the field.

Emmitt's 29 yard TD against the Falcons in 1992. He disappears in the line, in a sea of red, the radio announcer, Brad Sham, begins to call him down, when he suddenly reappears, runs around the end and scores as Sham is yelling "Oh, this is the best! This is the very best!"

It for sure wasn't THAT one. Dorsett's 99yd TD run against the Vikings is the ONLY answer.

And it humiliated Howard Cosell who had just made a derogatory comment about how the Cowboys think they can just turn it on anytime they want. He had to say after the run "Well, maybe they can".

I think Dorsett's 75-yarder would be top 5 for sure. Maybe top three. The 99-yarder didn't demonstrate as much, IMO.

Considering he did it with only 10 offensive players on the field, it's pretty darn impressive.

The Walker run was better than the Dorsett run because the play looked bottled up. It wasn't blocked well.

The success of the play is almost entirely due to Herschel's abilities.

People forget how good Herschel Walker was because he's remembered for the blockbuster trade. When he was traded, I was angry. I didn't realize how good that trade would be for the team. I only knew that Walker at the time was my favorite Cowboy of all time next to Roger Staubach and I was super bummed he was leaving the team.
