Lead Zepplin - Stairway To Heaven

This is a great song, but I can't bare to listen to it anymore. The second I would hear it start, I would hit the next button on my phone. It got to the point that I physically removed it from my phone.

I thought the thread was about openings to rock songs. If that's the case, IMO, the Earth Band's version is far superior with the keyboards leading the intro to the song then Bruce on his acoustic Guitar. Of course, that's just my opinion.

If we are talking Springsteen, the opening I like best is probably Born To Run. To me, you know it the minute you hear it, that lead in with the drums and then the rest come in and it gets your blood going immediately. This is not his best vocal but I love the live crowed and how they help him on the song cause he's played out.

Just kidding bud. I'm a Springsteen nut and I've always hated that Manfred Man version.:D

Love Born to Run....good call!

Lucky for me, I've avoided this condition by simply listening to a lot of Country Music over the years. I guess it's up to you to decide if the cure is worse then the condition.

I refuse to listen to any Rush for the same reason. WAY freaking overplayed. Not just the year it comes out, every freaking year. Someone at the 97.1 Eagle in Dallas several years back had a SERIOUS Rush infatuation. Every third song was Rush. :bang2:

Some of the songs mentioned ahve cool intors, but it is questinable in my mind to call them rock. Some are more pop/easy listening.

Does Heavy Metal count as rock? :)

Damn, it took years, but I finally got that song out of my head in about 1989. Might take another 5-6 years to get it out again.

Catchy song - I would call it rock. Maybe lively Irish folk music?
