Question, are we supposed to vote for the guy we think is best and against the guy that we think is the worst OR are we supposed to vote for the guy we think is undervalued (ie, say Brown goes to like 5 points and though I may like Gale Sayers better, I vote for Brown because I think he deserves more than 5) and vote against the guy overvalued?

You add one point to whichever player you feel is the best on the list, and take one point away from the player that you feel is the worst on the list.

Over evaluations (or under evaluations for that matter) will eventually play itself out once the lists get smaller...with the exception of blatant homerisms.
