Greg Davis out as OC at UT...

expletive expletive expletive YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES expletive expletive expletive YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES cuss word expletive cuss word cuss word cuss word YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

Suddenly my Christmas spirit has returned. Merry Christmas to me and the rest of the Longhorns Nation from AD Dodds and Mack Brown.

BTW, I didn't read the article, but I fully expect Davis to remain on with the UT athletic department in some capacity!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. thank you God. Best off-season in 13 years and this is long overdue. I can hardly contain my excitement. There is a wide smile on my face that will not come off.

Imagine if Texas went out and hired a pirate to run the offense....not saying there wouldnt be some massive egos on board, but it would be exciting. Imagine what the pirate could do with 4 and 5 star talent as opposed to 2 and 3 star talent. Our offense would be just as beastly as our defense.....but UT hiring the pirate has about as much chance of happening as Jimmy Johnson coming back to coach the Cowboys.

BTW, I have heard Norm Chow's name thrown around.....

Don't tease me.

wasnt me....it was Coach A and Johnny Fingers Champion on Bringin It yesterday

Sorry I missed that. Would have been kinda fun to torture myself.

:laugh2:

So far as I can tell, it is only speculation at this point. I mean, I can find no lagit articles on this so far. However, that doesn't mean that this doesn't have legs. I hope it's true. Chow is the best Collegiate OC I've ever seen. He has had limited success at UCLA but I think that's more about the talent he's had to work with then anything.

If you brought in Chow on a 3 to 5 year deal and simply let Major Applewhite sit and soak up the knowledge, I think you would find that Texas could have an excellent future OC or maybe even HC down the road, just depending on what Champ decides to do.

Not sure how I feel about Norm. I'm not completely sold it was all Davis' fault. I would've been satisified with some position coaches getting canned!

It is "speculation" at this point... but KLBJ reported it is coming from some well-placed insiders. Let's hope it's true. With the caliber of players that come to UT, the offense should be unstoppable. Unfortunately that was pretty much only the case when we had a superstar at a skill position...

Norm Chow would be AWESOME...

I assume the Pirate is Gruden?

If so...........

"CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- An ESPN executive says he expects Jon Gruden to stay in broadcasting instead of returning to coaching, and a source close to Gruden told ESPN's Joe Schad there is "zero" chance Gruden will accept the Miami Hurricanes coaching job."

I thought the pirate was Mike Leech.

Me too. Leach is the "pirate". And yes, Trump wrote a letter to the Miami AD on behalf of Leach

I'm sorry, I didn't know that. Bad on me. Leach is a great OC but he is not what I would want at Texas. We have Brown coming in and I don't see Leach using a Running Game much. I'd rather see Chow the Leach but that's just my opinion.

Those lateral moves in college football is kind of tricky. He would have to be named Asst Head Coach/OC. I just want someone to show the O Line how to get blocks to the second level! If it's Norm, then so be it!

wow. just wow. i really didn't see this coming. i also don't entirely believe he should be gone. i mean, he has had two national championship offenses one being just last year. you don't lose the ability to call plays that quickly. plus the texas WR/QB connection didn't do him any favors this season.

i understand the move but i reserve judgment till i see who we bring in
