He is a beast.

If he had played the whole season, he's projected to have had 17 sacks by now.

He plays Merriman's position in the Phillips 3-4.

Wade Phillips is a genius.

That is all.

I like this thread..... simply because its different than the rest of them on the first page :bang2:

Ellis is a man on a mission. I expect a big post season from.

Merriman is a phony.

Ahh Merriman is good. 11.5 sacks, 2 FF is not too bad at all. 6 sacks in the last 3 games and 4 games with 2 or more sacks. Given they lost their "genius" DC, hes still having a good season.

Have you ever seen Ellis get jacked up the way Merriman got jacked earlier this season and last year by the Pats player.... whats his name Light?

Getting jacked up twice does not make him a phony, sorry. Granted, hes not as good as he was when he was on roids' but hes still good. Would much rather have Merriman than Ellis on this team.

Sure he is good, but there has been quite a drop-off since last season now that he is off the juice!! Also, he is a one-dimensional player because he gets abused when he has to drop back and play coverage.

The most telling drop-off has been his strength which was exposed when Jones-Drew pancaked him as Merriman was trying to rush the QB in the Jaguars game.

And when he came back last year when Light lit him up in playoffs

Obviously, when people do get off the juice, there is a drop off in strength. So Ellis isnt one dimensional? Pretty sure Merriman can move better than Ellis.

He's not better than Merriman. If Merriman was here instead of Ellis he and Ware both 15+ sacks right now. That is not to take anything away from Ellis. Having a great year better tahn a lot of OLB's but he only has what? 29 Tackles? He is pretty one dimensional but he is great at that one which is rushing the passer.

Merriman has more negative plays (sacks, stuffs) and tackles. Ellis is hopeless in pass coverage. Greg's had a nice year, but Ware and Merriman are the two best OLBs in the NFL.

I give Ellis ALL the credit in the world for coming back from the achilles. I thought he was gone for good w/ that injury. However, I think Ellis should give some of that new $$$ he got re-working his contract to DeMarcus Ware. Ware is the REASON Ellis is having such as great year in sacks:

Ware without Ellis = STILL would have 13 sacks at this point
Ellis without Ware = 5-6 sacks at this point

Some team is offered Merriman or Ellis, they should take Merriman (because he's young)
Having said that, Ellis did what he has done with ability and no sterioids.
