Strange...

He called Wade Phillips..."Wade".
He called Stewart..."the defensive coordinator".

Is there a rift between Ellis and Stewart that I'm not aware of?

I wish I knew if Ellis' words meant something about Stewart...

I have certainly gotten the feeling that Stew is here because he is Wade's guy. I don't think he has a long-term future here.

You're probably right. We all know Garrett is the eventual future...But I think Jerry and a lot of the players are very fond of Wade. I haven't gotten anything close to that idea about Stew. Maybe he's just kind of forgotten about with Garrett and Wade storylines, but I sometimes wonder how much the players respect him?

Weak excuses. He can do the extra work outside of the OTA reps. This is a paranoid freak, consumed with his personal agenda first well above the team's needs. Frustrating, and tiresome. I love this guy, but man, he's testing one fan's patience. THE LEADERS ON THIS TEAM NEED TO LEAD!

Maybe we can elevate Campo to DC when Garrett takes over.

Then when Garrett loses his luster we can make Dave HC again.

Fun times.

i think Dave is happy to spend the rest of his career as our DB coach -- that's really his best spot. when Red takes over next year, Jerry is going to go out and get some serious d-coord talent for him.

Hopefully he gets some OC help, so he can coach the offense up in the 4th quarter of playoff games.

After listening to the interview, I don't think Greg's as upset as has been reported.

Yet he sounds like he's very suspicious of the Cowboys' motives here.

Random thoughts- maybe they want to keep Ellis from getting injured by limiting his reps. Could they also intentionally be preserving his trade value in the process?

Recap: Greg was only getting 3 or 4 reps in practice and petty much didn't feel the need to show up and stand around.

Greg's not unhappy, the team isn't unhappy. End of story.

Edit: Turns out, the "role change" from the original article probably was in fact just completely made up.

Seriously, I think about how that would all shake out, and it makes me cringe. Who would our OC be? Ray Sherman? John Garrett?

And on defense... ~shudder~

He could take that time to help out the young guys or engage in all kinds of other positive pro-teammate behavior.

Without looking it up, can you tell me who is the Saints' OC?

See what I'm getting at?

If Dallas can trade Ellis for Taylor then I'd be happy camper, I'm tired of his crying and complaining. I used to be a big Ellis supporter but I can't defend his recent actions.
