Your not interested in any laws because it doesn't fit your agenda.

I'm not interested in laws because I'm not having a human rights debate. I'm talking about the NFL and whether it's relevant. Michael Sam himself says it's not relevant. I agree with him.

If anybody has an agenda here it's you. As evidenced by your thoroughly ridiculous segregation comment.

No it does not matter about him being gay to whether he can play ball. He was out. The media has already talked about how some owners would not draft him now. It's not a football issue. It's a world issue where there is a stage to talk about it.

Right. It's not a football issue. Glad we're making progress.

If you don't want to be known as a gay football player, don't hold a press conference announcing you're a gay football player. You victim, you.

But on behalf of Michael Sam I will apologize for putting you through the pain of having an issue you don't understand or have no reference too, yet if you want to continue being the guy who argues everything, have to form a hard nosed opinion on it whether you want to or not.

Your right I completely lack intelligence because I make the mistake of thinking you can explain simple things to simple people

What can I say. I'm a hardliner. When something is completely irrelevant to your job I don't see the need to hold a press conference about it. Unless it's attention you seek.

Presumably you are heterosexual? Further I'll assume your friends and colleagues are aware this?
Why then is it making it an issue and playing the victim when a gay guys friends and colleagues know that he is gay?
Maybe he addressed the issue at college as it was an open secret? Maybe when him and his team mates were out partying and his team mates were taking girls home he wanted to be able to take a guy home without it being a major issue? Maybe he was just tired of hiding who he is? Or maybe he was playing the long game and setting up getting to potentially hurt his draft stock and cost himself a lot of money by finally getting to play the victim he'd always perceived himself to be on an international stage?

I don't believe for a second being gay is going to hurt his draft stock. 20 years ago, sure but not now.

You threw out a lot of maybes. I'm talking about what actually happened. If you truly believe and want your sexual preference to be irrelevant to your career as a football player, treat it that way. Don't hold a press conference about it.

If somebody ends up outing you, then I can see a press conference like the one he had telling us it's irrelevant and he just wants to be considered a football player. That I would respect. His actions would back up his words.

You should be an agent. You really seem to have a complete handle on every side of these personal issues.

I'm saying MAYBE because I don't know what the actual back story behind it is. Youre saying everything as fact like you know the guy or anything about him. I'm just correcting that just because a guy wants to put it out there which was going to get made a big deal of anyway, doesn't mean he's an attention seeking whiner. The kid seems like a good kid and handles himself well.

If it would have gotten out there it would only be because of his previous announcement in college.

I know you can't stand I'm right, it's the politically correct thing to do to give him a big warm hug of acceptance, but I'm just saying the guy who wishes his sexual preference wasn't an issue is the only one who has ever made it an issue.

Yeah YOU don't want to hear about it because you think people are just completely accepting now. What happens the first time the guy is seen out with a Boyfriend? I don't think youre right I think your afraid to have to hear about anything other than straight football analysis. If someone can come out in the most ego driven macho sport in the world it's a big deal. That's why I brought up the laws you didn't want to hear about. Because it's parallel to what's goin on here. If you think people are not still insanely persecuted against and they are all just complainers then I just feel bad for you.

I can think of choice words that have nothing to do with feeling bad for someone like that.

No. I don't want to hear about it because it's completely irrelevant to football. See my stance is consistent with what Sam said. It doesn't matter. So since it doesn't matter, don't hold a press conference as if it does matter.

I'm not really concerned with what you think. Your segregation comment told me I wasn't dealing with a reader here. I feel for all the horrible bias homosexuals face in this world but I can't shake the fact that it, in Michael Sam's own words, "is irrelevant to who I am as a football player".

See, I'm not interested in letting the PC society use the NFL to make some human rights stance. If your sexual preference is irrelevant, then make it irrelevant. If you claim it's irrelevant and then choose to make it an issue, you're a hypocrite. It's really that simple for me.

I just think attitudes like this are exactly why there are still bigots. They think gay people should just "keep it to themselves" that just says "it makes me incredibly uncomfortable" which is what they are trying to get past.

If "nobody cares then why has it been a top story on ESPN for the last month?

Yes, I have a horrible attitude thinking nobody's sexuality should matter in their profession.

Form a march. Take my kind of hate down.

I'd suggest letting someone else spell out the banners.

Lol no you just attempt to attack someone's credibility when you obviously read nothing but cowboys forums. It doesn't make you an expert on the world. It is irrelevant to FOOTBALL. Youre just not bright enough to understand anything outside of football. You should stick to crying about what center they should start and not about any real world issues.

You seem like a lonely guy. Lol. There is a whole world out there. I know it's seems scary but it's bigger than 100 yards.

So we agree. It's irrelevant to football. Then don't bring it into the football world. Don't tell me you want your sexuality to be irrelevant if you feel the need to call a press conference about it. Don't tell the media you wish they wouldn't consider you a gay football player when just a week ago you announced yourself a gay football player.

Michael Sam is a victim of nothing.

Because it's a big deal, and it will continue to be a big deal until it literally "doesn't matter."

When it is hopefully one day acceptable for people just live their lives without feeling the need to hide who they are or stay in the closet for fear of judgment, stigmatization, or even worse, then it won't be reported as widely as it is today.

I will never liken it to the civil rights battles of the 19th and 20th centuries culminating with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but the mentality of the scared, bigoted population is very similar today as it was back then, and to a larger extent, still lives on today.

So we agree on this. Anything before a late 3rd and no thank you.

I have him in the 3rd round. But I've watched enough drafts to know that there are always players still on the board that I thought would be drafted already.

But just the idea of Michael Sam in the middle rounds, yes. He can get to the QB. I don't care about these workouts.

I don't think you can post political threads here so I'll just say there's an article on the huffington post talking about a lobbyist pushing to ban gay players from playing in the NFL and apparently it's getting some support.

Google it if you're interested.

And that's all I'll say about that.
