Greg Roman For Next HC

The important quality we look for in a coach is that he be grateful for the opportunity. Recent success is not a criteria.
….forgot a criteria....."Yes Mr Jones", "Ok Mr Jones", "I'll get right on it Mr Jones", "You're right Mr.Jones", "That's a great idea Mr. Jones.", "Your a genius Mr. Jones", "I'm going to get the coffee now Mr. Jones."

looks like you understand the criteria for working at the Dallas Cowboys perfectly.

An offensive mastermind?

The guy is 36. He coached at EC 5 years ago.

Why are we crowning him?
He's coached a highly successful Division I team for the last five years that's put up insane offense numbers .
He crowned himself

This is my choice for the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys. He has done wonders for the Ravens and was brilliant with SFO! He's a West Coast Offense chap which would work well with our O. He's been absolutely sensational with Lamar Jackson, and he did very well in SFO with their QBs. His offense in Baltimore just this season BEAT New England, and it wasn't all that close. It was quite a beating he gave them. He used the ground game efficiently and effectively against them. So, he'd love to have Dak with his arm and legs, and Zeke with his abilities. Then throw in Coop and this defence if we can improve our safeties and a DT, and I reckon he'd be amazing with us. Please Jerry. Do give Greg Roman a go.
Maybe we could also bring TO back...I'm sure they'd get along fabulously! :)

One of things that I believe was holding Jerry back from letting JG go was how it would affect Dak. But, now I think he see's Dak is a really good QB who is going to do well no matter who the coach is. Unless its SB win or a hard push deep in the playoffs (NFC Championship game) JG is gone.

This is his third season. Oklahoma always wins. How many championships does he have?

I am not ready to anoint him. Sorry.

So Greg Roman is the " flavor of the month " future HC now ?

that run QB works for the Ravens and make up skill set of Lamar Jackson, but I would not be in favor of hitters taking that kind of running start shot on Dak.

I like him as he is doing so now in preserving his body to run and scramble only when he needs to scramble and get away from sacks and pressure, and in
an occasion RPO run.

every time I hear that west coast I think ball control/dink and dunk way vs pushing the ball downfield, I really prefer the way dak is mind set on getting splash plays
downfield than spending time dinking and dunking here. maybe it depends upon the coordinator and their particular version of WC, but i'm more amp to find the
offensive mind that has similar philosophy of what dak is doing now, vs having to re-train and introduce him in a new offensive philosophy vs a continuation.

also what credentials does Roman have that suggest that he is an HC material ? we've seen how it makes a difference between a HC ..and an OC.

Urban Meyer or Lincoln Riley. If Josh McDaniels could become available I would throw him into the mix.

Although important, being a HC is not just about a good scheme.

I'm not ready to anoint anyone until I see NFL results.
I want Riley because he a proven offensive minded coach .
Oklahoma has been very good under him.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one buddy. Riley is very unproven even at the college level. I think it would be unwise to hand this roster to an unproven guy. At this point the next hire needs to command respect immediately and scare this too comfortable group of underachieving players.

3 Years 32-5
865 Win%

Thats not only good.
Thats exceptional.
He's proven and then some

That’s the biggest thing this team is missing. It’s someone like Jimmy and Parcells that demand attention to details and focus from the start.

Aside from the fixation on running on first down, the offense isn't the issue with this team. I want an upgrade in the defensive scheme, so I'd be happy with a defensive genius as head coach...and let Boy Wonder continue to grow w/the offense.

I've got to admit, the run offense Roman has engineered has been one of the most impressive things I've seen this season. Everyone said (including me) that running QBs won't work in the NFL, players are too fast, the schemes will get figured out... well he just wrecked a Bill Belichick D with his run game, which is basically like beating the final boss level of the NFL. He runs 30+ times per game in a passing league and it works.

That being said, I don't think the offense we have right now is the problem. It's looked pretty good, when JG doesn't get in Moore's ear and tell him to kill clock. So we don't really need an offensive mind - IMO, we need more of a disciplinarian who can get the team ready to play every week and manage situational football. Think Zimmer minus the defensive expertise. Or hell, with the defensive expertise. It wouldn't hurt.
