Somehow, someway.Yep, there is hope as long as Jerry is GM and Garrett is HC

There’s nothing to tell Trouty. The league will NOT give out specifics. They’ll make their ruling by next week and that’s that. If you want to read stuff, just google Randy Gregory and you’ll see a list of articles, tweets and such. Can some of you post some ******* links to your oddly specific statements?
All we have in here is RGregory with some weird tweet chain. And posters with the inside knowledge.
Post your links. I wanna read, too.
Nope. Rico is a one offense person and not an addict. I've already erased that other guy from memory.I do not blame them about this.
The team has stood by and let it play itself out.
At this point..
I would release him and Rico hit the street just on stupidity grounds alone.
We wanted this year with no drama..remember?
What is your source for this information?
Just curious about how you are privy to all this information if the team isn't. Do you work for Gregory's rep or league office. Serious question
1. The organization doesn't have a lot of information about the status of Gregory's off field care
2. Franchise offered help, but was rejected by his representatives
3. Gregory's agent states no one from the Cowboy's has contacted him
(2 and 3 are contradictory, which causes me to wonder what the heck is going on)
4. Nothing confirmed, but rumors Gregory might get suspended again for failing a drug test in training camp
5. Normally the league would give the team notice a day before it was announced (the failed drug test announcement) Nothing has been said to the team thus far
6. Cowboys have offered sobriety coaches but the representatives have rejected this in fear they will lose control of the player
7. Sunday morning ESPN stated he had a relapse.
8. Cowboys know nothing about a relapse
9. Gregory's lawyer did not return text about issue
I am personally getting a little frustrated the way this league does business. It started with the Dez non-catch and subsequent rule changes that are still illogical at best and just down right interpretive by every ref going, and then overruled by faceless minions of Goodell upon review. (BTW, I agree with the non-catch, but that is another argument)
Then the Zeke suspension which was simply the league office trying to make up for the Ray Rice issue to look tough on domestic abuse. Now add in one of the main rivals of the team has a hand in the discussions on Zeke and maybe influenced the outcome - and don't let me mince words - outright cheated Dallas and labeled Zeke a criminal and bad guy when the evidence pointed toward the woman being vindictive when she thought Zeke's becoming a rich man meant she would share in that.
Now we have the team sitting on pins and needles with rumors flying about a player with immense potential and the team has no hand in the recovery of the player, and is blocked by his representatives from knowing the status so they can make plans. Then factor in the league perhaps staying in touch with the agent, but not informing the team at all. And this is the way you run a major corporation with a world brand.
It is either gross incompetence by the league or some punitive sanction (double secret probation) being meted out on the team.
Or both.
I saw my first Cowboy game when I was 8 years old and missed few. Except a year I was feted by the Federal Govt to spend a year in Southeast Asia in what could only be labeled as Disneyland East - which caused me to miss the first Super Bowl winning season and ensuing Super Bowl game.
I have never thought about giving up on this team. Even during the Doug Pelleur era.
However, because of the ridiculous rule changes, the ineptitude of the front office keeping a GM that cannot GM and a head coach that cannot head coach. And now the league picking and choosing winners and losers, my fervor for this team has waned enough that I am starting to wonder why I give a rat's butt.
This watered down product is a shadow of what real NFL football is about. Teams cannot have two-a-days because the players union negotiated this. Tackle football is moving toward touch football, and for gosh sake they have male cheerleaders.
This issue with Gregory is heinous for the team, and I suspect some of it is another swipe at taking advantage of a relationship between the Commish and his team owner buddies who will do anything to win.
Sorry, after yesterday's beat down, and today's news, and the fact Garrett still has a job as well as our GM, I think I am finally getting pissed off. Please ignore my angst.
Why is this being rehashed again.
Well using hash is probably not right...
So why is this crap being posted again. Rather have another Dez thread.

Sign up and pay for The Athletic.
Sturm ripped this franchise a new exit hole today in his lengthy article. The article i cite also is on their page. I reworded the information so it was not directly lifted from the article, but this is essentially what it said.
JUST a tad premature. granted *if* he did screw up then he should be out. i think by the 12th screw up, you can pretty much call it a lifestyle he won't change. but given how "news" spreads these days i have zero issue waiting for something official to come out and clear this up before i lob out some judgements for my own benefit. At this point I'm done with Gregory. His play on the field simply doesn't justify the headaches and drama. Cut bait and move on and hope he gets his life straightened out.
@Reality - we really need some "funny" "agree" "thank you" "winner" type reactions in here. Why is this being rehashed again.

No thanks. I tend not to listen to "talking heads" and "opinion pieces". I assumed your points were fact based that came from the league or Cowboy FO not some mouth piece. Thanks though
Perfect example of a contradiction
lol, yes I suppose. JJ is the master of that. He prefers it so you won't catch him up on anything. He would make a great politician
you should do what I do,my fervor for this team has waned enough that I am starting to wonder why I give a rat's butt.
