Gregory in trouble? **merged**

I expect Gregory to be there and any testing he may have to do to return negative. Not going to speculate beyond that.

I hope he knows he can be random tested up to 10 times a month. That’s like every 3 days they can test you. Ridiculous if you ask me. Of course he knows they have probly done it for the last year.

This whole situation is pretty weird. He was conditionally reinstated and this would be a normal part of that process. What makes it confusing is it was reported shortly after Gregory was "fully" reinstated. It seems to me that he wasn't "fully" reinstated last month, but had met the conditions to be able to participate in training camp and preseason games. Now he needs to be cleared for the regular season.
Thats how I read it as well. And going AWOL is certainly a complicating factor.

It will never happen but it would be appreciated if the league doctor would be approached in situations like these. Even a 'no comment' quote from the league doctor would tell me that any effort was made in that regard. Pipe dream. Viva la perpetual unnamed sources!

Based on the tweet above regarding the league policy on substance abuse it appears this is typical and it may appear JJT is a douchenozzle.
Additional likes for the expert use of "douchenozzle". :)

I must of missed it but when did he go AWOL? And from what?

From the guy appointed to be his watchdog, or whatever term they're using. His "hand,WR" couldn't find him for several hours last week. Google stuff on JJT and Randy Gregory and you should find it.

Anything we get from him is gravy anyways..so hey, whatever. Its a loss if he gets suspended, but not the end of the world.

There was a point it was gravy but now that we are getting a sense of his possible impact I thinked it'd be a huge loss not to have him.

I think that's exactly the reason for this "meeting" right before the start of the season. It's a special situation brought on by another situation.

One would assume that has been explain to Gregory by multiple parties--from the league representatives to his agent to anyone with any knowledge of the easily available policies on the subject. For me, it is not hoping that he knows. It is wondering how seriously he weighs the ramifications that could impact his career.

I consider it a huge loss if he's suspended again. In two weeks time, he's not only shown that he's ready to play, but he's seized the RDE position. So much so that Crawford was moved back inside.
:hammer:

In two weeks time, he's gone from bubble-wrapped to this team's starting right defensive end. And dominating in both practice and preseason games.

If there's ever been a quicker upward trajectory for a player, I've never seen it.

He would absolutely be missed. A great deal.

Gregory has a league approved babysitter who is also one of Gregorys best friends. His job is to track him at all times.

Sometime last week the guy lost track of Gregory. He called the team. They didn't know where he was either. He was gone for a few hours with nobody knowing where he was.

Theres been talk that he went to eat some junk food at a burger joint somewhere. But nobody really knows. Given his history, there was talk of a relapse. It's all speculation. Either way, he wasn't supposed to be out on his own without knowledge of his babysitter.

105.3 FM started this morning he will meet with the league physicians for a test to determine if he can play. It is pass or fail. But this is not sue to him doing anything, but the league requirements as per every player suspended and reinstated.

They also talked about La Canfora who they approached to get a little more information. La Canfora essentially told them he would not give this to their station because they have some that rip him.

With the response by :La Canfora, my opinion is he wanted a headline and nothing more. He can take a flying leap at a rolling donut.

I expect that he's meeting with the therapist in charge of his care and that they will discuss why he went AWOL. The Dr. will likely be assessing his mental state and whether he's ready to return to the league or whether he's going to benefit from more regimented treatment.

Keep in mind that the league is in charge of his treatment. Everything isn't about punishing players

It's the end of his world, he's done and should be if he can't pass this test. But this is all rumor now so as hard as he's worked to get back, I'm in his corner.
