The guy flat out annoys the holy hell out of me.

So Rob Ryan is giving an interview and he asks this question.

"Jenkins said that when somebody makes a play that you're not happy with, you have a tendency to joke with them on the sidelines instead of ride 'em. Is that always the case? I mean, how do you have the wherewithal in the middle of a game to do that?"

Rob Ryan shoots him one nasty look. I wish he would have decked him.

He gives a very good answer, but giving SD a set of fold back teeth would have been so much better.

What was his answer? Steve Dennis may have stumbled across a novel observation -- that Rob Ryan is ... unorthodox.

not a fan of Steven Dennis

seems very pretentious and a little stupid

Without the answer he gave, this post is bizarre. Pony up the answer already!

this isn't verbatim but the gist of his answer was along the lines of treating different players differently i.e. when one player makes a mental mistake he'll love him up in order to keep his confindence high and another player he might get on a little harder because that's the sort of thing he reacts well to

what in bloody hell is wrong with the dallas media?
They are such *******s.

Thank you brucekr. My Internet when down trying to answer their questions about Ryan's answer.

It was too long for me to pause the interview and write it all down.

Listen to the entire interview which is hilarious. Especially the explanation of the girl on his play chart at the end and the dig at Andy Reid.

I listened via the link below. I don't know what you see or hear in that portion but I see absolutely nothing wrong with the question, no change in Ryan's demeanor, nothing...

Steve Dennis may be a jerk as you say but I get nothing of that from this interview question.

Where does he get the wherewithal?

Where does Steve Dennis get the wherewithal to question a coach with that tone?

:laugh2: :laugh2

He explains that in San Francisco he had a shark, a famous place that he likes to eat at, and some other stuff...then says he does not like a plain play sheet.

Then he says Andy Reid has a Denny's play sheet...

Agree, even reading it I didn't see anything insulting about it. If anything, it sounds like more of a compliment, like "How do you stay so loose in such a tense situation?"

Steve Dennis is a huge, huge Garrett fan. Maybe Hos didn't know that. ;)

Btw, FYI, Steve Dennis is big time Garrett fan, and professes that publicly on Radio. He can be annoying though at times. Bit of I need an angle for everything type of guy.

Great interview by Ryan as always, you're reaching on hating the reporter for asking the question, imo. I thought it was relevant and Ryan's answer was interesting. Good to know that he realizes you have to treat different people differently. Wade did not get that.

Him being a fan of Garrett will not make me like him. I think he is a know nothing about the game, pompous windbag.

Tell us how you really feel :)

Teams must have absolutely zero say on who and who can not be at a press conference. There are a few I would not even allow at Valley Ranch or the stadium. Steve Dennis happens to be one of them.

I don't find that surprising. My dad was the same way when he was coaching.

I'm sure Steve Dennis would deride troops on the battlefield too. Some of them have a gallows humor that way.

The DFW mediots are like Cold War-era Pravda and Izvestia and the Dallas Cowboys are capitalism.
