Griping About Steve Dennis Again

The guy flat out annoys the holy hell out of me.

So Rob Ryan is giving an interview and he asks this question.

"Jenkins said that when somebody makes a play that you're not happy with, you have a tendency to joke with them on the sidelines instead of ride 'em. Is that always the case? I mean, how do you have the wherewithal in the middle of a game to do that?"

Rob Ryan shoots him one nasty look. I wish he would have decked him.

He gives a very good answer, but giving SD a set of fold back teeth would have been so much better.

I don't follow Dallas media from up here.

I take the question to be complimentary of Ryan's ability to deal with players. That in a highly public situation and under intense duress he can maintain his calm and sense of humour.

He could be a jerk but it is interesting that this is how Ryan approaches such situations.

Who just loves the sound of his own voice. He'll use 12 words to ask a question that might really only require 6 just to have another second listening to himself while giving all of us the same pleasure......not.

it's not that so much it's that he thinks he's smart enough to word his question in a way to make the coaches or player give a "controversial" answer, you can tell he's like contorting his tongue around his mouth or something like to get the question to block off all the PC answers but it doesn't work because he's a dope.

he's not really a football guy either. he's a reporter who got stuck doing sports or something.

Sounds to me like he just asked a good question. I agree with dboy, guys with an axe to grind are trying to make something out of nothing.

It's so interesting how some of those guys fall bass ackwards into jobs some people would kill to have.

Probably a poor choice of words. But, the question is kinda messed up anyway. I don't know of anybody who really cares that Rob Ryan breaks a player's balls after a bad play.

And my sig...really says it all.

What if he had asked, most coaches lose their minds when players make mistakes but I noticed you react differently to different players. How do you find the inner strength to keep your cool in game when one of your players makes a mistake and find the best way to correct them?

Because that's what he asked in so many words Emp. There are plenty of good examples of this guy being a dork, the question hostile brought up is not one of them.

I find Steve Dennis to be very annoying also. I think he does try to ask a controversial question and make people squirm. It didn't work on Rob Ryan. He told him he's not out there doing one-liners. He said he is just being himself.

During the pre-game show Monday night, Randy White put Steve in his place. I kind of enjoyed it.

Is there a podcast? I'd love to hear it.

This guy has SWAG. I mean, if you don't have a "I'll kick anyone's butt" attitude around him, you won't make it.

Gonna be sad seeing the guy go next year if this defense continues what it's doing.

"See ya, Spawn of Satan!"
"Bye."

I won't be too sad.

You need to stop and read what you just wrote. This site lights up regularly with interest about how this or that player did or didn't get disciplined. Wade Phillips, Marion Barber, Ray Sherman, Dez Bryant, Jason Garrett, Tony Romo etc.

Steve Dennis has always irritated me.

JJT and Jen Engle tick me off a lot too but at least they come up with some very good stuff at times.

Dennis, on the other hand, is useless. If he moved back to Ohio tomorrow the local press would be upgraded immediately.

I don't know of one. Steve Dennis starting in with a negative opinion about the Offense and how the running game is terrible and the Cowboys are doomed... blah, blah, blah. Randy wasn't having it and cut him off and said any area can be improved. Steve went silent. :laugh2:

He was an overwhelming Mavs naysayer as well.
