Great notes!

Reading them does give someone the impression that Henson had the better day. 65 of Romo's 86 yards passing came from two plays that were short dump offs to the running backs. Guess you have to see Romo in person to be impressed with him.

Thanks again for your efforts in keeping us fans informed.

Thanks Grizz your camp reports are outstanding, and I look forward to reading them each day.

I am amazed at your ability to capture such detail information. Such detail is what this Cowboy fan enjoys.

Keep these reports coming, and many thanks for a job well done.

Thanks Grizz for the report.

I know exactly what you mean about Henson making the receiver "work for it" and I'm a big Henson fan.

That is a result of his inconsistent mechanics. Compare his mechanics to the flawless mechanics seen today in all the old Aikman clips where the football always hit the receiver in stride and right between the numbers. Look at the throw to Harper in the 2nd SB against Buffalo when he hit Harper for about 35yards in the 4th Quarter and Harper went out at the one yard line. An absolutely incredible throw. I took that incredible accuracy for granted.

Romo's problem is he just isn't talented enough to be a full time starting QB in the league. Sort of a Jason Garrett type, (with less of a head for the game, but more "moxie" than Jason).

what is your facination with these high profile young qbs? you act like every sucessful qb in nfl history had the biggest arm ever.disgusting.no offense but romo WILL prove you dead wrong.

According to the DMN account, I made a few spotting errors in my scrimmage report:

The first sack I credited to Canty looks like it should've gone to Ellis.
The TD I gave Sam Hurd was actually out at the 4-yd line and the going for two by Lousaka Polite was actually the TD.
Also, they have another sack by Carpenter, that I must've credited to someone else.

My apologies for the errors.

You have to apologize? Please, the DMN could only hope to bring the coverage to us that you do.

One guy that seems to be coming out of nowhere is Junior Glympth. It seems a lot of reports mention either his name or number. Dude has the size, so it would definately be a plus for him to come up big this year. With Canty looking like this is his breakout year, & the need for a solid backup behind a injury prone Marcus Spears, the end position could use some help on the left side.
I think Jason Hatcher will come on the second half, but it would be real sweet to see Junior take it up a notch right out of TC.

Looks like Ellis will eventually eat some crow. BP knows what he's doing when it comes to putting guys his size in position to succeed. He did it with Willie McGinnest & others, so I hope Ellis finally puts his uneasiness aside, and goes for it. I really think he will be in double-digit sack totals if he does.

Anyone know why Owens didn't play in the scrimmage?

Because they are being careful with his hamstring so it does not get hurt.

Their accuracy isn't always that great, so you might have gotten some of that right and they got it wrong. Although I'd have to say the Polite touchdown probably would be a correct call by them.

I just think I owe it to you guys to be accurate in what I report. Of course, if I could get on the field like the mainstream media instead of trying to peek over the shoulder of Joe Palooka Cowboys Fan who looks like he was the love child of Lisa Leslie and Yao Ming, it would be a whole lot easier. Not to mention trying to see over player like Dennis Roland, Pat Watkins, Flozell Adams, et al.

Please apply for a job at the DMN, I will be a reference.

Hey guru,

No problem, if Romo does, that's great for the Cowboys and I will be estatic and gladly admit I was wrong! I have no agenda, I don't know either player on a personal level. I just want a QB who can lead us to #6.

I'm just being realistic about Romo's talent level. There have been hundreds of guys with Romo's size and skill level, who simply fill out the rosters over the years, and the chances are Romo will be just another.

You be sure and check back in with me when Romo calls it a career. ;)

Next time, try to get Sam Taulealea in your line of sight. You should be able to look over him, but not around him.

Seriously, man, I really enjoy your efforts to bring us these reports. Are you going to be there throughout camp?

Great Job Grizz!... Very good..unbiased play by play.. I don't know how you write so fast and see all the details..it's so hard to watch everything going on at once.

Ware and Canty played very well.. along with Newman.. which is almost a given at this point. Carpenter had a few nice blitzes and covered the backs pretty well. Of course, Hurd came up with some big time catches for Henson. Flozell was stoning everyone, mostly Hatcher and Burnett. I don't think Flozell played any snaps on Ware.. which I'm sure was on purpose. Ware bull rushed and just buried Pettiti on that third play, but Pettiti definitely improved as the scrimmage went on. Ellis played very well when he came up and is still getting a feel for his space in coverage. You can tell that all the players are really rooting for him.
