W/O Gronk, they don't make it to the SB.
Gronk takes the pressure off of those tiny WRs, allows them to make plays. The Patriots don't throw the ball deep that much outside of Gronk, so if I was a defensive coordinator I would play a lot more man press and make those WRs beat me.

New England could struggle the next few weeks. Not only is Gronk gone and Brady struggling with his leg, but this...

Chris Hogan (WR) Limited Pract - --
Julian Edelman (WR) Did Not Pract - --
Martellus Bennett (TE) Did Not Pract - --

I'd love to see them lose the top seed, but even now I wouldn't count on that.

Gronk the GOAT Tight End, but he stays getting injured.

Witten ain't as good, but I'm always thankful I never have to worry about him being there on Game day.

Hypothetically speaking... I wouldn't give two you know whats if he did or didn't play in this hypothetical Cowboys vs Patriots Super Bowl as long as we won. All the crap we've had to endure over the years, everybody else could suck it if they tried to downplay that victory for whatever reason.

Back issues are the only reason why Gronkowski was drafted in the second round instead of the first. It was a known quantity with him when he left Arizona. With the way he plays, it's surprising that it took this long to have a second problem.

Thanks for the clarification, Plankton, haven't done my due-diligence on this one yet.

You're a gem, Plankton.

Does not matter who plays in February.

As long as it's the Cowboys.
This.

If the team is good enough to reach the title game, it's good enough to win it. How well the team plays when it counts will decide the outcome regardless of the opponent.

Worrying is sometimes misplaced. Occasionally teams perceived as favorites stumble. Hopefully Dallas will continue taking care of business just as it has all season long.

I don't think they're the top seed now...pretty sure Oakland is at the top. They'll still get a bye, but their path to the 1 seed just got a little tougher. Oakland does have a tough finishing schedule, though, so NE might still end up there.

I'm no Gronk "roadie", but I don't think he could carry Witten's jock when it comes to blocking. That's always been a very underrated and understated part of Witten's game.

I don't fear any of the so-called "elite" teams nearly to the extent that I would have last year or anytime recently before that. We'll be highly competitive with any team we play as long as our mojo remains intact. How things have changed this year! We'll be in the thick of things come playoff time -- it's only a question of getting a bit better on defense, imho. Mo's return would be a nice addition at year's end, no doubt. Hopefully, it'll come to pass.

That's fine, Landry, I certainly respect your opinion. Gronk is a monster of a blocking tight end. But I love our Witten, plus he's always healthy :)

Second time for back surgery for Gronkowski. Makes you wonder whether he will be the same player again.

Does make you wonder. Imagine the numbers he would have and could continue to put up if he had Witten's durability.

I guess I stand corrected, then. Maybe he is understated and underrated, as well. I still like our guy, though.
