Gruden was really on to something early on when he ran Dak through his QB machine. I really think Dak's confidence is indeed a major factor in the success of our team this year. If you transplant him to the Eagles or even a team like the Rams, I really believe he would have raised the level of play around him in those environments as well.

Yes. I did it. I watched all 23 minutes again. He really exudes confidence and that is such a contagious thing. Gruden said another clairvoyant thing that really struck me.

"This guy is without a doubt the #1 dual threat quarterback in the draft". Bingo! Nailed.

One other thing that struck me is how hard Dak worked before his last year at MSU to "shake the stigma of being a running quarterback". He really wanted to show everyone that passing first was his forte. When questioned about his legs he simply stated that he can do that too if necessary. Man. . .

What an incredible young leader & we stole him from the draft. :flagwave:

You are so in love, @Bleu Star, I think Adrian Peterson and Jared Goff are probably a little jealous. ;)

But in all seriousness, I am a big fan and believe he certainly has the intangibles to be a great quarterback in this league.

There is no doubt his intanglibles look to be off the charts.

He does have some on field stuff to work on, as do all rookie QB's. It looks like he will be a good one for a long time.

I remember seeing this before the draft, and trying not to let my optimistic (some would even say Pollyanna) side win over my cynical gotta-be-practical side. I remember going to training camp and seeing Kellen Moore go down, and thinking probably like some here, "Damn, we gotta find someone now. N-o-w, NOW. We can't really be thinking about going into the season w/ a rookie as the primary back-up. I mean, it would just be the most wonderful thing to think Prescott could come in and be this great back-up, but that's just over the top. Turn the page, that's just not even barely realistic."

That's what I said, and I'm pretty sure digging in the archives here would affirm that that Chicken Little concern consumed me for awhile.

Lesson learned.

Excellent point. And it appears Dak has a history of doing that, having taken Mississippi State (!) to the #1 ranking in the country for a period of time.

I enjoy those gruden segments.
Dak is indeed a very confident young man. Very cool under pressure so far...gotta luv it.

Regarding the "it factor", some may want to watch a few more of Gruden's segments. He says that a lot about his guests.

Also remember, he was beyond in love withj Johnny Manziel and his "it factor". he bashed very team that passed on him on draft day to a point where it was embarrassing.

Just let Dak be Dak and he'll be just fine.

He may be correct on Prescott, but he was raving about Manziel too.

I remember i think it was against GB, Aikman was talking (i believe) and he said the coaches say Daks blood pressure never changes. No matter what the circumstance is.

Not only does he not panic, he never even looks like he is panicking...

Comparing him to Donovan McNabb gave me pause, he's right unfortunately. Thankfully Dak is better.

Enjoyed this vid. Gruden does heap praise on guys but I thought he was very on point and astute here.
