I'm trying to imagine how it happened and it doesn't make sense.

A very strange accident. I grew up playing tug-o-war through junior high and never saw more than a little burn to someone. It had to be the type of rope but still can't see that happening again, a freak accident.

It appears they may have had the rope tied around their hands ... usually the rope used is too thick for that.

Yeah, that was pretty cool. I wanted to see a video of the fingers getting severed, so I watched the boxing video and blew off the article. LOL
