Guess who Irvin is reporting Big Bill is working out?...Quincy Carter

I wish Carter all the best.

He was a nice kid who made a lot of stupid mistakes.

I don't know guys, this is what I picked up from one of the Fins boards:

Former NFL quarterback Joe Theismann, who attended a practice this week and some last year, said one problem with John Beck is he has not anticipated where the receiver will be ``as well as he has to. I guarantee he's scarred from last year.''

Beck has overthrown and underthrown receivers in camp, and Josh McCown has been the best of the quarterbacks, though Sparano insisted Tuesday there is no leader."

You know Parcells likes vets that have played for him and Vinnie is just too old to call back to duty. Who else could he bring in to hold the fort until they get the real QB in there? He went to the playoffs with QC at the helm and sometimes, people learn from their mistakes and have a more healthy respect for what they had in the past. Not to mention that we have enough "special players" on our team as of now and for the most part, they have taken advantage of their opportunities.

Quincy can be Bill's modern day Vinnie T. I don't think it's that much of a stretch to see this happening.

I can see it now....

A showdown of has beens and never beens...

Quincy Carter
Vinny Testaverde
Drew Bledsoe
Phil Simms

May the best man win.

I laugh at all the Qunicy jokes and crack a few myself, but I do wish him well.

Note to self: Ask Hos to add Patriot and possibly Belichick, Brady, et al to the language filter.

Don't most coaches worry about the QB and specifically prepare a game plan to stop them? That doesn't sound like anything special.

what talent?

the guy was always mediocre to poor...poor accuracy, poor decision making, average at best arm strength...his mobility was an asset, but otherwise he was, and always will be awful

and thats not even mentioning being dumb as a box of rocks

David
Ya but he and Bill lead a bunch of misfits to the playoffs!!

so it wasnt Hambrick or Adrian Murell?

Parcells is probably remembering the 5-11 team he inherited and the fact that Quincy Carter lead that team to a 10-6 record and a playoff appearance.

The guy was starting to look like the QB of the future before he imploded.

With a lousy offensive line, Parcells learned that Carter could at least manage the game and use his legs to avoid the rush. We make fun of him now, but Carter made some very exciting plays running and throwing during that 10-6 season...Miami needs a QB who is mobile for the time being.

This is an interesting development especially for the people that have argued that Parcells didn't like Quincy.
If you see the press conference when Q was cut and Parcells was about to cry, it was obvious how much Parcells liked Q.
