Guilty pleasure songs...

One of my best friends used to just out of the clear blue say that one line.

Science!

It always cracked me up. I think that's why I like that song.

:lmao:

Funny how silly things like that just make you roll.

A few friends of mine would do similar things but using that men without hats song Saftey Dance.

If someone would say we could not do something, or don't do that.

We would look at them and say...We can dance if we want to and then proceed to do that stupid dance.

Always made me laugh.

cause your friends dont dance and if they dont dance well they're

No friends of mine!

I agree on the Carpenters. I always thought Karen Carpenter's voice was like a warm blanket on a cold day.

The "Blinded Me with Science" posts are hilarious. That song definitely makes the list.

Some of those 80s songs with the heavy synthesizer -- such as "Puttin' on the Ritz" and "Cars" qualify.

I've already outed myself on Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in a previous thread, but they probably belong in this category, too. My kids love those old songs.

Interesting story about Frankie Valli... I used to work in Vegas alot...

Some of the guys I worked with asked the union guys (who work all of those show venues) who was the guy that "had" the most women...

They all said, without hesitation... "Frankie Valli"... who woulda figured that one...

They said he would point out one before a show and tell one of the union guys to go get her... then between sets... same thing... then after the show at least one other... :laugh2:

Brings new meaning to "Oh what a night"...

Good stuff.

I just read a biography on Sam Cooke ... the original "Lady's Man."

That guy was unreal. Just for the sport of it, he would find the ugliest, raunchiest women possible to hook up with. He got bored with the pretty ones.

It ended up costing him his life.

All of these are good, ... I used to think, "I just love all music!"

Oldies, big band, classical, swing, rock, country, gospel, soul, 80's, heavy metal, ... and then along came rap.

I found out I don't like all music.

Any of the hair bands. Poison, Ratt, Whitesnake, Warrant, and stuff like Guns N Roses and AC/DC come awfully close too.

My greatest fear in life is becoming the guy with the beer belly who is just a little too old to be clubbing, who gets drunk and starts screaming, "We paved the way dude!" while waving his fingers in the air as his old school rock bands play.

Sharped Dressed Man - ZZ Top - Still love it to this day.
Kiss- Prince
Separate Ways - Journey
Devil went down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels
Family Tradition - Hank Williams
Somebody's watching me - Rockwell
Red, Red wine -UB40
Treat her like a prostitute - Slick Rick
Candy Girl - New Edition

And thats just the start, I love music so there are probably 100's of songs that I love that most people would laugh at.

Man, I must get a lot of funny looks I don't notice, because most of the songs on that list I would have no problem crankin' up. :D

There is nothing wrong with those songs.

Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack
Always - Bon Jovi
Bed of Roses - Bon Jovi
The Jazz Singer Soundtrack

S & T you're list is pretty cool. I'd pop those in the CD anytime.

I'm one of those who like all kinds of music, however I do have cringe a lil bit when people hear me play these:

Backstreet Boys
New Kids on the Block
George Michael
Boy George
Lit - first CD
Full Force feat Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam - All Cried Out
Deniece Williams - Let's hear it for the Boy
Eddie Murphy - Party all the Time
Kenny Loggins - Footloose

There's a bunch of songs that I like that people think I'm weird. I don't care. That's why God created headphones... :)

Nothing wrong with that just don't sing out loud unless you can sing and know the words :laugh2:

Where exactly is the guilty pleasure in listening to Prince? Any guilt you feel should be due to your choice of football team. Prince is a legend.

Ah! One more guilty pleasure song: I Want It That Way by The Backstreet Boys. Saw it on MuchMusic today. Guess it reminds me of romantic times. Pretty catchy tune...

Tell the truth HH... you know you run around listening to "The Eyes of Texas" on your ipod... :D

Guess my list isnt as strange as I thought.

My taste in music is so broad that it really takes most people by surprise.

Everything from Scott Joplin to Ozzy, Billie Holiday to Mary J. Blidge, Frank Sinatra to the Beastie Boys, Bach to Tupac.

Ohh I think I got one. That Britney Spears song where in the video its like mission impossible. Damn cant remember the name. Toxic (had to ask the future Mrs.)
