5Stars,

Damn thats a lot of guitars.

CowboyDan,

I traded in my Crate 30w for a Crate GX-212 with the Celestions back in about 1991. I absolutely loved it. I would have bought another one, but I couldn't find a Crate dealer near my house and the newer ones don't see to get the same great reviews. I tried a Line6 and thought it kicked ***. Read all the reviews and it got nothing but great ones, so I went with the Line6 this time around.

I sold my GX-212 to my buddy who now lives in Mississippi around 1998. He still has it. After all these years he said he has never found a reason to get a new one. He said he plays live with it and he is never drowned out by other players full stacks no matter what brand. The GX-212 /w Celestions was a great amp.

I love that amp! It's the Blue Voodoo with Celestions....which I think is the same one you're talking about. It's got amazing clean tone and so many possibilities with distortion, reverb and presence that you can go down dirty blues, hard rock or heavy metal all with the twist of a few nobs. And it handles distortion pedals so well. Great, great amp. I'll have it forever.

Never played that one.

They don't make them anymore. They have a Floyd Rose tuner/setup that some people don't like...I do like them.

Also, other people think it has a great sound and it does. The one thing I don't like about it is that the input chord goes right into the body by the volume/pickup knobs instead of going into side of the guitar like, maybe a Les Paul...you know where the chord plugs in...the Prodigy's chord goes right into the body/top, so instead of having a stright in plug, it's best to have a 90 degree, or L shaped plug on the input chord.

Here is one on youtube. Mine is the exact guitar, same color...and you can see how the chord goes in...that is the one thing that some people don't like.
