Gun Slinger all day

Dak has changed his style of play this year and is way more risky. And id be lying if i said i didnt like it (pause).

That conservative crap i hate. Throw it to your receivers and let them make a play

Tony Romo was a gunslinger and it never panned out….give me a Bus Driver and good defense and the job will get done.

I want the bus driver approach we used in 2014 and 2016.

Same approach we used in the 90s.

That is a winning formula.

It is also nice to know that Dak can also gun sling it if we need that.

Yeah I don't think anybody watched that game Saturday and came away thinking Dak bus drove that game. Dude straight up balled. If he HAD just drove the bus the Cowboys would have lose by double digits.. That's the beauty of how this team is built. It CAN win running teams over if they aint good at stopping the run and it CAN air it out when they ARE good at stopping the run. This last game is the game that Cooper Rush could not give you. Dak carved up the #2 pass defense in the league with what two pro bowlers in the secondary all while being harassed and hurried all day. That HAS to be encouraging. They knocked him around and he still kept firing. He started out with the worst possible beginning you could imagine.. and all he did was come right back and take the team down the field for a TD to settle everything back down.

I was on the phone with bro-in-law and during that drive I told him, "Oh we're winning this game.. Dak has that look in his eye..." That's the look I've been searching for the last several years.. That "YOU aint beatin me today" look.. He showed it when he shook off the lil safety to convert that third down to Gallup. Treated him like a pesky little brother and basically stepped on him while completing the pass.. He showed it again on 3rd and 30. He showed it every time he would break the pocket and saw 10 yards of open field and he actually took it.

Thing is it was not just his passing, he had a couple of nice runs in the game as well. Picking up 16 and the RPO down in the redzone where he got us into 1st and goal.

I wouldn’t call Mahomes, Stafford and Brees gunslingers. They are smart balance QBs with HOF credentials…and HOF HCs..Romo and Farve were true Gunslingers and although I love me some Tony Romo you always knew he was gonna throw a couple of picks at the worst possible time. It was great for selling tickets and one heck of a show.

agree but man I don’t want a see Dak catch that Tony Romo interception bug….best to know when to be a gunslinger and no when to drive the bus.

I believe Dak is good enough on the right day to go toe to toe with the best QB'S when he is on the same page.

We used to run some hurry up earlier. That is his sweet spot. Then pound the rock. We need the run game to be effective. Zeke doing the dirty work and Pollard in space. We all agree on that.

Sound defense. Playing contain and watching the outside. Then turn the dogs lose.

A defense that can stop the run and not give up over 50% 3rd down conversions.

IDC whatever wins games

this team is built to run the ball...idc if the qb is making 40 million...ive seen people complain that he isnt throwing for 300 and 5 tds every outing

you dont need him to....Dak is at his best (really any qb is) when their run game is effective

25 passes from dak and he'll complete 22 of them for 3 touchdowns

but if he needs to gun sling it then gun sling it, he did it against a top 3 philly defense and make the defense look like amateurs

Yes but Dak is who we got . . . Which do you prefer.

I would ratger have this version of Dak. . . And the fact that He has been willing to sling the ball is good

He is finding confidence in himself. . . Your biggest criticism was that He would get the deer in the headlights look in his eyes. It is different this year he is not caving lije before.

Maybe it is because he is gaining more confidence in himself as a gunslinger.

After that Pick 6 he settled down and picked the Eagles apart . . . The throw to Gallup was a thing of beauty

I am rooting for the gunslinger

If Dak is a gun-slinger then Dan Marino was a bus driver.
I root for the Cowboys who will once again fall short due to the limited talent base at QB.
One game against an indifferent team who gifted us 4 T/O with their backup QB does nothing for my opinion on Dak's very limited talent base at QB.
Let's hope he proves me wrong in the coming playoffs.

The TEs and WRs would prefer a gunslinger. The RBs would prefer a bus driver. As fans, I think we just want to be entertained. Maybe the gunslinger would provide more of that but it doesn't mean the bus driver wouldn't win the game. Ultimately the W is all that matters.

Stafford is NOT a HOFer in my mind.

Just not good enough

Favre would've won at least 3 super bowls if he hadn't been such a gunslinger. It cost him dearly several times.

Yeah the one that sticks out to me was his last game in Minny where they were already in winning FG range and he heaves up a pick. That was incredible.. I think their kicker had not missed from the distance where they were in like three years..

QB is such a tough position to draft for.

One qb might stink on one team, then go to a different team and system and light it up.(and vice versa)

I believe whoever the Cowboys get in the future at qb,they have to put them in a system that fits them.

I don't think Dak should be throwing 30+ passes a game, wrong guy for it.
