Gunslinger Dak

He needs to improve, but get the rhetoric right. He didn’t throw for less than 200 yards per game, he had some individual games of less than 200 yards.

I wasn't trying to nail a particular stat, but if you insist I'll amend it to "221 yards" (not much of a difference, eh?) which was the average per game.

Look here folks I’m here to tell y’all there is gonna be a new show around a football stadium near you. It’s called Gunslinger Dak, look forward to a 4,500 passing yards , 400 rushing yards, 35 passing TDs, & 5 rushing TDs performance. Let’s go!

I think he's going to have a great year. Has Frederick back leading the line. A happy and non-distracted Zeke and his best set of weapons on the outside. The weird thing is that it's mostly Cowboys fans that despise him.

No, his average per game last year was 243 yards, and that is a big difference from “less than 200 yards per game”

The great thing is Prescott doesn't have to break Cowboys franchise records because he has a good team and ISN'T a gunslinger. How did the last one work out?

I hope Dak improves on his career average of 226 yards a game. With the weapons he has, and him being a amazing QB, 275 should be a minimum expectation.
It's not Prescott that needs to improve. It's the scheme the play-calling that you want changed

Well, I hope

I don't think we've seen his ceiling - I hope he excels and grows - if anyone can, it's him.
Go Cowboys!!

It is early, but I am strangely optimistic right now. I am hopeful he can take the next step. As a person he seems tremendous. I know he wants to become great. He appears to care about getting better. This is a huge year for Dak.

If you do not believe there is room for improvement then we probably have nothing to discuss. He needs to go from adequate to special in several areas. Quicker reads. Quicker more consistent release. Better footwork under duress.

If he makes gains in these areas his confidence will improve and he will trust his throws when he rips it into tight windows .

There's always room for improvement I don't care who the player is. But you're not asking for improvement and the quality of the player cuz you're asking for 300-plus yards and that's a scheme

If Dak throws for 4500 yards we will have an 8-8 season

Id love to have a QB who can score 35td's, but thats not little dakky. In the redzone hes about as good as most backups. Hope he finally turns it on like a real starting QB.

We're talkin about how many yards he gets per game. Not improving on his abilities. You want to go and switch the words around to make yourself feel better. That's okay. Make no mistake about it you don't need 300 + yards to win the football game.

Limp along with a 226 yard passer if you want. I believe he can step up the quality of his play.

I noticed there was nothing in the OP about the number of WINS.

Fantasy football mindset. It’s like some fans would be happier with a loss, as long as the QB aired it out more often for their fantasy teams.

Dak manages the game, takes care of the ball and balls out in the clutch. That’s why he wins 2/3 of his games.

EFFICIENCY. That’s what wins games, not raw passing totals.

I hope he remains the same guy while working to improve on his flaws, the way all HOF-caliber QBs did when they were as young as Dak.
When Dak plays the wins come. Haven’t you been paying attention?

The passing numbers simply must come up,,, you can't throw for less than 200 yds a game and have that abysmal red zone efficiency ranking and expect to advance in the playoffs. This has nothing to do with fantasy football, having a weak passing game is a fatal flaw for teams that hope to contend.
That’s a product of Linehan’s offense and not Dak. I thought everyone knew that but some people apparently just focus on the numbers.
