***Gurode released*** MERGED

Hopefully you're not serious about Chris Johnson.
I already indicated that I don't want him.

I am just not putting anything beyond the Cowboys. Jerry has a hankering for a big move this offseason...see Aso swing and miss.

We cleared this room out of nowhere and not at an opportune time. This really HAD to occur before a game? CJ is still holding out and we now have around 10 million in cap room.

Yes, and now the tide has turned and this is a stupid move.

By the same freaking voices.

As hypocritical as those who were praising Gurode as the team's most underappreciated player a few weeks ago.

And then applauding this move.

I'm not sure how much of the previous draft "messes" were the result of a lack of ability by the scouts OR was it a case of the Jones and whomever the current coach was, over-riding the wishes of the scouts?

There certainly have been stories about coaches and such having too much say over who gets drafted.

That's the million dollar question. Is it that Jerry just sucks or is the scouting also flawed?

I'm of the opinion that assistant coaches shouldn't have any say over who gets selected. That's what happened when Jimmy left. The coaching staff got too much say and the scouts too little.

But I'm right back to how good are our scouts? I don't really know. Hard to tell when they are and aren't being overruled.

I think this youth movement on the line is a high risk, yet high reward proposition. You have the chance to build what could be a solid O-line that could last years, but you could also be throwing away the next season or two to stabilize it. That's 4 roster spots that have been shuffled from last season which is gonna be hard to get right, hell we haven't even gotten the two safety positions solidified since Darren Woodson left (and that's only 2 roster spots). I really do hope we get it right with all the youngsters up front because the O-line is in everyone's opinion the make or break of any great team. I'll say cautiously optimistic, because I recognize the very real possibility that this is could be a rebuilding year.

Or the same people that wanted Garrett out of town last year as the OC and now worship him as the head coach.

As the Chris Johnson holdout continues, is there a chane we cleared this cap out of nowhere to trade for him?

I'm hoping that is not the case but we should have about 10 million in cap room now...

We have Felix, who we spent a 1st rounder on, we used a 3rd round pick on Murry this year, and we still have Choice.

So why the hell would we go out and trade premium draft picks and $10+ million a season for another RB???

That would be about the dumbest move Garrett could make. Another RB is the least of our worries right now.

Shouldn't a pro bowl center be good at :
hiking the ball? in shotgun formations?
And call out Def formations?
And lead the Oline decisions?

Exactly. He has snapped his last ball over Romo's head.

Cya!

Yes, every bit. Was I one of those people or can you point fingers at someone else?

Um...

Well they did get our star QB killed last year..so yeah id say get rid of them first

The D? I blame that on wade, they gave up on him..after he left, they played better

That wasn't the veterans, that was a rookie who didn't make the right read and missed his block...and now he's got three of them in front of him. Glad he's not my fantasy QB..

Not pointing fingers, pointing it out.

I don't know what you had to say at the time.

But it's the same level of hypocrisy.

I've already admitted that it is the same. No need to tell me again as if I don't realize it. Just wondering why I am singled out for the point? Because while I like Andre Gurode (yes still) I don't know that I have ever thought of him as under rated or over rated. I don't tend to think in those terms.

You weren't singled out.

You mentioned one side of the hypocrisy going on so I mentioned the other.

Disagree with you stash. You kind of did.

This is so stupid!!!! :banghead:

It was not Jerry's call. Jerry is not running this team, our coach is running this team and it was an excellent call.
