Danny White was the man! He'll never be put in the category of Roger or Troy but let's face it, he was this close to playing in a couple of SBs. Everyone remembers "the catch" by Dwight Clark but what some may not remember is how close White was to pulling off a miracle comeback after the catch. Threw the ball to one of his receivers (Tony Hill?) who very nearly broke free but at the last second, the defensive back grabbed his jersey and managed to hold on. I believe White fumbled on the very next play. Game over.
