with glenn out, both crayton AND witten picked up the receiving slack. crayton is a good to great #3 and and ok #2. yes he had 1 bad game and it was unfortunate. what's worse is everyone calling for his head. he resigned and he's a cowboy for a few more years. whining won't change a thing.
It's fair to say that Witten more than picked up the slack with Glenn out. He didn't just step up, he jumped up...emphatically. He did what Crayton didn't. He made himself a big target. He beat his coverages, he got himself open, he made big plays when they were needed.

Mr. Hand, when did you become a national sports columnist? Or hired by Jerra's front office?
Oh, you are just a poster here. Well, Crayton, beware, Mr. Hand will be getting on to you!!!!!!
:laugh2:

Get a grip.
I never have been sold on Crayton, but I do recognize that our two starting WRs are long in the tooth and one (Glenn) is a gimp. Until we bring in at least two blue chippers, either via the draft or FA, we need Mr. BigMouf Crayton.

So trading Crayton is, at best, a dumb idea.
But thanks for your input, Mr. Hand.

I didn't say we should trade Crayton

in fact you missed the whole point, not unusual coming from you

Perhaps the sting of 1 and done will suffice for now:(

Where in the world of fantasy football do you seriously see a team giving a #2 or #3 for an aging guy like Greg Ellis. He had a great season I admit, but don't forget, these teams all lack one thing that really made the differnece on Ellis going from an 8 sack guy to a true force....DeMarcus Ware (a pass rushing threat OPPOSITE of Ellis...never had one in his career here, and you saw what kind of output he had).

Unfortunately it hasn't sufficed in the previous 2 seasons either. Our head coach talks softly but doesn't carry a big stick.

The solution isn't to cut anyone. We need to ADD a couple of players. I'm not referring to talent either, I'm referring to passion and leadership.

We have no Charles Haleys or Michael Irvins on the team. That's the problem.

Wouldn't mind replacing Brady James and/or Akin Ayodele with say, a Ray Lewis? Still a better LB then either of our ILB's and definitely has the "Haley" effect written all over him.

I don't see any Michael Irvins available though. That includes the draft. I know McFadden has been in a couple of fights in him the last couple of years, maybe he has it in him. Usually, though, a player like Irvin (personality) comes from a winning program. That would be LSU or USC. Evenso, I don't see anybody with Irvin's passion/leadership coming from those schools.
