hard to remember the details. basically, irvin had called him out, so keyshawn to his credit agree to and interview. keyshawn declared himself to be more of a complete WR than irvin (regarding his ability to block), to which irvin responded with a laught, and that he would have better numbers as a cowboy (or just in general, possibly) than irvin. keyshawn came off like he didnt know that irvin was a hell of a WR and just a little too cocky.

i do hear boys fans saying good things about keyshawn though. given that, i'm sure the truth about him isnt as bad as his rep.
as for your last statement, you are exactly right.. concerning the interview, it sounds to me like they were probably just having some fun.. both Irvin and Keyshawn are cut ups and like to laugh and i could see Keyshawn giving Irvin a hard time and Irvin rolling with it.. that's what it sounds like to me anyways..

That's fine.

Just don't be a jerk when everybody doesn't have the same opinion of things that you do.

That attack on Thumper was immature garbage.

I was being serious about MI and his drug problems....

Didn't he just recently get arrested with a used crack pipe in his ash tray?

I never thought Randy Moss was nearly as bad as he is made out to be. The problem is that the Vikings called for him to be a leader and the Raiders did too while their QB's like Culpepper and Kerry Collins just stood there like a deer in headlights. Plus, he exposed Joe Buck for the imbecile he really is.

Thank you Randy Moss.

He did run a female police officer over in an alley - claiming he didn't know what to do.

He has his moments.

The funny thing about Irvin is that I've had a handful of people that have met him and Steve Young on the ESPN set and all of them have said that Irvin was great and Young was a real pompous jerk. And all of these people were not Cowboys fans, and for the most part grew up hating Dallas and Irvin.

are you kidding me? attack? immature garbage? Thumper, do you feel like that? I was using an ANALOGY to make a point.. he was "attacking" some players and it got us into a debate.. I wasnt trying to be a jerk or attack anyone.. he had strong opinions that I thought were harsh.. so I tried to make him better understand my opinion by relating his opinion on these players to him.. put him in their shoes.. that's not an attack.. that's a smart argument.. obviously, I wouldnt feel that way about him and that was my whole point.. that is the way that he feels..

i think there was a little cuttin up going on. but i'm pretty sure irvin isnt/wasnt a big fan of key. up til then, he was saying things like 'the cowboys dont have a #1 WR'. the interview was a bit tense, with some joking thrown in.

That's not what happened and there were several eye witness accounts that said to claim Moss ran over anybody was a "joke" because he didn't even come remotely close to running anybody over. From the sounds of the eye witness accounts it sounds like the traffic officer waived Randy on, then told him to stop, then told him go, then stop again and Moss barely nudged her.

Probably the worst things Moss has ever done was:

1) Beat the bloody hell out of kid in high school who carved the N Bomb on his desk.

2) While serving time for beating up the kid, he got caught smoking a joint.

Generally he has a lot of small, almost meaningless offenses or actions that he's done in his life. As far as #1, I don't blame him. As far as #2, he probably shouldn't have been in jail in the first place and I'm not the type of guy that condemns somebody for smoking marijuana.

But because he has the reputation, every one of those small offenses get completely blown out of proportion.

Some people need their heroe's to be beyond reproach ... and that's fine, I certainly can respect that.

While I love Staubach, Aikman, Emmitt, and Landry, they too are amoung my very favorite Cowboys, I can't relate to their All-American personas the same way I can relate to Irvins flawed existance. It more closely resembles my own.

Emmitt got a bad rap when people claimed he was just playing for the record. Then when he proved he was playing for the love of the game by continuing to play after he broke the record, he got a bad rap for that too because people said he was somehow "disgracing himself". You can't please everyone, so you might as well please yourself.

Interesting tidbit I thought I'd bring up since Moss's name came up. A couple of girls I used to know who both attended Marshall said that Chad Pennington was as cool as you would think he would be and that Moss acted very arrogantly, as if he was above it all.

In the recap zone, a few threads on the Key-Irvin interview. It wasn't as fiery as it was promo'd to be, but it was ok.
