Gregory and Chaz Green are the key guys IMO. Green would complete the OL and Gregory emerging would help solidify the DL.

Let us hope on green. Dude missed 20 games in college, missed most of his rookie season. I doubt the kid stays healthy a full 16 games.

Damien Wilson - I think he fits what Marinelli wants. A physical player at the MIKE with good speed to take on the run. I don't think Marinelli is looking for a big time coverage guy at the MIKE and will leave that to Lee. But, he needs somebody that can take on blocks for Lee and can stop the run. If he steps up legitimately at the MIKE, that would solve some key issues.

Terrance Mitchell - We need a legitimately effective top-3 cornerback (for the team) that is low cost and we didn't draft in the first 3 rounds in the upcoming draft. If that's Mitchell, some FA or a draft pick in rounds 5-7...so be it. I'm assuming that Carr will be gone and we need to make up for the busts that were Carr and Claiborne with a cheap, overachieving alternative. So far, it appears that Mitchell is the best bet.

Randy Gregory - Mainly because we don't want to waste 2nd round picks. Hopefully he follows Lawrence's lead and turns it on next season.

Wilson is a guy I thought could contribute but did very little
Kinda surprising

Not a surprise the staff didn't trust him after he was brutally out of position on a game ending TD. Confirmed a ton of talk about his pre-season work. Everyone focused on the splash plays but not on the bad stuff

I keep seeing that people were impressed by Wilson's preseason work. I guess I missed it and wasn't disappointed as a result.

I read several pieces from camp and preseason saying folks should tap the brakes. Mostly the evaluation was that he was free styling rather than playing his role. You'll get flashy plays that fans notice but you'll also get tons of plays - that may or may not lead to big gains - where he lost his battle or fought the wrong one.

That said, he's a rookie with nice physical talent. He gets a little stronger in the off-season, the game slows down for him s bit, and he'll be a nice piece

I just went back and read a few scouting reports. One theme was that he lacked assignment discipline - pretty consistent with what I'd read during pre-season.

Honestly he was a dime-a-dozen player as far as I was concerned. Never heard of him as being particularly special. Not all that productive. Not a physical freak.

That is why I was a little puzzled when we took him.

Productive. Big conference. And it's the 4th round. But I hear what you are saying. He projects as a good ST guy. Borderline 2 down guy. But again, looking to fill Wilber's role in the future, not a bad pick.

If you shoot for Kyle Wilber level, I guess.
