How much better would the Cowboys be on defense had Diggs not tore his acl? Generational defense? Or just very good.

I don’t really know as it was developing. They are still light at LB and the D line is not as consistent as they need to be. They are like the bottle rocket defense - very flashy- a quick rise - a big explosion that looks pretty then they come crashing down to reality - they all seem to struggle and wear down as season goes on
Just my opinion.

I'm not sure it would have been a generational D, but it would have been very good. It can still be very good.

I still think our defense is elite.

Our CBs weren't really the issue...our safeties did not play well in the 49ers/Cards game. Jayron Kearse has had an awful year.

There are games where we will miss him and games where it won’t matter.

Same ol, same ol. Can't stop the run. Lbs can't get off blocks. Diggs makes no difference here. Diggs was in the last two playoff games against SF. How did they go?

The Cowboys with Diggs would still be one good defensive lineman away from being a great defense. Let’s hope Sam or Mazi can be that lineman.

The defense would be better, but certainly not generational. Diggs is a good player, but he isn’t Deion Sanders. They were a number of fans on this board that didn’t even want the Cowboys to re-sign Diggs. They were put off with his reluctance to make tackles. However, he was making some tackles this season. He was showing a lot more physicality.

in the DQ system, it changed everything on a team level. It changed how we think mentally and confidence-wise. It changed how we must play to win.

Every team has injuries it's up to the FO to be prepared to have a deep roster and/or trade for or find pieces when things like this happen.

Very good

Definitely win the Arizona game
You honestly believe having Diggs would have won the Arizona game for us? Lol They destroyed us upfront. Diggs wasn’t going to prevent them from rushing for over 220 yards.

..yep, agree there. But with Bland doing great job. I see us moving back to that state.

IMO, the Diggs injury derailed the focus that week. It happened late in the week and the team was unable to refocus
Losing a player to injury should never derail a teams focus unless it’s their QB. We simply didn’t show up for that game because we were full of ourselves. The Cowboys simply can’t handle success. Too many players, especially on defense were reading their press clippings.
