Don't we have a week of exemption with Hamilton?

Yes thus me saying he is on the bubble. When he is not eligible for that list then he may well be released. It doesn't look like they are going to activate him off of it this week either.

I think Pellerin has some position flexibility, too. I think he played some safety. I know they worked Hamilton in the slot some during TC, but I don't know how serious about it they were. Maybe that will help Pellerin get the call.

They were talking about it on Talking Cowboys. Specifically BB was talking about it. The thought was that they were going to bring up Pellerin as a 5th corner rather than an extra safety to replace Claiborne.

When I am deciphering what people say I categorize it by who their sources are and who they are not. For example, BB has a direct line to the scouting department but as the Floyd pick demonstrated very clearly, he does not have the same rapport with the coaching staff.

I say this because I have heard other reports that Hamilton is a pet cat of Henderson and the coaches.

Regardless, I was curious of what people's takes are.

I like Hamilton's athleticism, speed and coverage ability. He also covers kicks and makes tackles doing it.

I'd say this incident with spillman might have just saved Hamilton a spot on the roster.

Stephen Jones mentioned him on the radio and I got the impression that he would be added to the roster after the exemption was up.

Somebody, maybe Stephen, said that he can play CB also.

On paper he's small and not that fast:

Hamilton's issue is being out 4 games.
He isn't of Scandrick level.
If Scandrick being out 2 weeks cost him a starting job (for one week) you can imagine they are weighing how to work Hamilton back in.

Pellerin vs Hamilton is probably the question.

Patmon is already CB4 as of Mo's injury.

Hamilton may get saved by Spillman's issue tho they must believe he is telling them the truth as he is still practicing and given the current climate any offense against a woman much less a sexual assault is a desire to never play football again.
If Goodell has a chance to show he is tough on crime versus women he will go full jihad on a player.

I think the coaches are not-so-secretly too high on Hamilton for him to not be on the active roster, one way or another. Henderson in particular reportedly really likes him and his potential on defense.

I think activating Patmon and giving Mo's spot to Hamilton is a no-brainer. Then Spillman and Hamilton can sort out whose on the roster bubble via Teams production.

This makes absolute sense! Spillman should be on the bubble.

I think/thought Spillman was picked up as a stop-gap when Hamilton was suspended, anyway. I guess we'll see, but CJ's recent issues don't help him.
I'm torn on Hamilton. I'd love to see another talented young player put pressure on what I think is a relative defensive weakness at S. At the same time, I don't think he just missed his drug testing appointment, and I have such low tolerance for knuckleheads. I don't like relying on a bottom-roster guy who can't keep himself from losing game checks at an absolutely critical time in his career when he's on a team with a relatively open path to starting defensive snaps at his position.

Don't they get a 1 week roster exemption on Hamilton to to decide what to do. May depend what happens in the game on Sunday too.
