If Hamlin doesn't play who starts?

Ball, Watkins, or Mike?

I'd hope ball.

Eatman asked Wade if he was curious to see Mike Hamlin, and Wade said he wanted to see a lot of these young guys but it was just hard with the 45 man roster.

But he said he liked Hamlin a lot and liked him from the start because he was smart and athletic and the smart guys like him always improve.

So it sounded like Mike... But who knows for sure. I doubt he would tell us before the game on Sunday.

I saw Hamlin get up slow on a play where he dove for the ball. I hope he's o.k.

Cory Proctor did o.k. in very limited spot duty, and that is all he needs to do.

I really hope Gurode is o.k. He avoided a major season ending injury on that play.

Proctor for an entire game, against that huge NT, would get ugly, imo.

I saw that too, but it would seem to be a strange way to get a groin injury - perhaps it was an awkward leap.

I think I would rather see Duke Preston to be Honest with you.

I REALLY don't want to play Green Bay without Gurode. Skins or Raiders??? No problem, but not in Green Bay.

I read that that's the play on which he got injured. I also saw him running gingerly for the rest of the game.

If Hamlin can't go I would expect to see Watkins filling in. He has the experience and understands the defense allot more than a rookie. Not trying to knock Mike Hamlin but communication in the secondary I think it pretty critical and Watkins is much more familiar with it

Watkins is better. For now.

This may be too big of a leap, but what if Mike Hamlin plays so well that the team is forced to play him, ala, Miles (Austin) and Miles of touchdown! Thank you Brad Sham...simply the best in the business.

Remember when people used to belittle Kosier? Until they all wised up and realized he was quietly one of the best players on the team when we lost him. Yeah, I hope we don't have to go through that with Hamlin.

If Watkins starts for Ken Hamlin, he generates at least one turnover. Book it. Watkins is bigger, faster, more of a ball hawk, range and will at least try to wrap when he tackles.

Watkins may not be as good lining up the secondary, but I have seen plenty of times that Ken Hamlin lined up the secondary late or incorrectly. I'd take my chances w/a healthier better bigger athlete over a gimpy mistake prone Ken Hamlin.

I listened to an audio byte earlier today that gave some insight into why Hamlin has been really quiet in the secondary. Coaches have asked him to keep everything in front of him and to not give up the big play. (something a safety is supposed to do) Now I've seen Hamlin out of position a couple of times but overall he is doing what he is being asked to do.

I'll be the first to say that I've criticized Hamlin before but now knowing what coaches want him to do it's understandable that he's gonna be quiet back there. Would you rather have a guy that is gambling on routes and when he misses you give up a TD or a guy that is playing the position correctly and not giving up the big play?

I'll take the latter all day...

Oh no, what would we do without our weak link on defense(Hamlin). He's been very consistent all year at missing tackles and not catching potential interceptions. He'll be a big void to fill.

Greenbay is NOT the team you want to throw a fresh rookie safety in starting unless there are zero alternatives.

Ken Hamlin injured his groin in the first qtr against philly.

After the first field goal he sprinted into the locker room, to put Compression Shorts on.

You could see him favoring it during the game.

Hopefully some rest all week will fix the problem.

Wait, what? Watkins cried on the sidelines?
I think it was against Philly and he was responsible for a couple of touchdowns, because he was inexperienced and got out of position.

Also when I saw Gurode go down I was extremely worried. I'm just glad he's not out for the season.
