Just stop with prequels/spin-offs. Just a few years into Disney's take on the Star Wars universe and I'm already tired of it and we have only seen two movies from them.

There are already enough prequel and even some sequels through comic and novel form.

There's been one prequel/side story from Disney so far, and it might be my favorite SW yet. Why should they stop?

Yeah, if you're a durp. It ranks right up there with, "Dude, Where's My Car". Made for the mindless.

It's not comparable to Dude, Where's my Car (a terrible terrible film) at all. Not mindless either. It was a great blend of buddy cop/self-parody.

Because prequels, by and large, do not work? Prequels are far too often predictable due to the future already being set, along with rules/paths boxing a film in to take any kind of risk.

And no, there hasn't been one prequel/spin-off - we have a few already in comic and TV form

As of now, since Dinsey has taken over, we already have 3 prequel stories to just one present episode. The biggest issue I have with this is that since the 90s, Star Wars already built a ton of it's lore but much of it was scrapped by Disney and we are now having to do this all over again.

What is the National Film Registry?

It is a list of films deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" that are earmarked for preservation by the Library of Congress. These films are not selected as the 'best' American films of all time, but rather as works of enduring importance to American culture. They reflect who we are as a people and as a nation.

Established by the National Film Preservation Act of 1988, the National Film Preservation Board works to ensure the survival, conservation and increased public availability of America's film heritage, including: advising the Librarian on its recommendations for annual selections to the National Film Registry, apprising the Librarian of changing trends and policies in the field of film preservation, and counseling the Librarian on ongoing implementation of the National Film Preservation Plan.

Disney has made one prequel film. What other people do with prequels is irrelevent. Comics and stuff don't really count.

The comic is Disney, the TV show is Disney. Marvel is part of Disney now, which is why on the cover it has Disney on it and why Marvel was even allowed to create the comic. The animated show is on the Disney channel.

All of this is cannon, by the way. That's not even my personal opinion, that's straight from Disney.

Hopefully I can actually decipher that comment...

First off, I don't think the original Star Wars is "greatness" - I'm not a huge fan, I think they are campy as hell and family dramas in space. In terms of blockbuster defining and money making, they were great. Content wise? Meh. I have always been disappointed in theater form, how little they have actually done with expanding.

Prequels, NORMALLY, are a waste of time. The Han Solo movie isn't wanted, it's looking like a disaster, there are already comics of Solo adventures that are still canon. Han Solo, on his own, is simply not interesting enough as a character to warrant his own movie - he is a character that plays off of other characters, that's why his character is great. He's not a leading character.

Spin-offs and sequels are a waste of time in theatrical form - focus on comics/books if that is absolutely needed. Move a franchise forward, don't fill in gaps to stories that were made decades ago.

Pretty easy to decipher the word correct wrong words ;-)

"Won't be alive to see the last Star Wars movie ever made"

Actually, I agree. Star Wars was not great. But it is now. Things just work out that way. If you want... you will be able to figure out what that means. (Like Star Trek) same thing happened in time.

I'm going to agree again. Prequels usually fill in too much and spoon feed. Not needed and it unveils the unknown which made something more interesting before.... cause YOU DIDNT KNOW. lol

Disagree that Han Solo is not interesting. We know of a half a dozen stories that they could expand on.
There are good chunks of meat in that stew. Han being a scoundrel and deceiving and conning "plays off" of others. With that said... I don't need this movie. But if it's made. I'm in.

Kinda of agree with last part two.... but like I said....

I'M IN! :)

And I said film.

It can be cannon, but it's not a film.

I myself think it is in terms of good vs evil storyline. The characters are iconic (for many fans). I guess everyone has their own view what defines greatness.
:rolleyes:Yeah, "greatness" is just one of those ambiguous words that could mean anything.
