If you get a chance, check out the podcast. Jesse Holley talked about how other teams were bettering themselves while we like our guys. Nothing he said was any different than what we've all said on here but the fact that he had the cajones to say what he did was quite impressive.

It's pretty clear for everyone to see. You'd think the Cowboys would make some moves, any moves, just to make it look like they're trying.

I'm not saying the Jones boys are amateurs, but what would they do differently if they were? If you were to put in charge someone that's in over their heads, what would they do? They'd be too afraid to get into big FA contracts due to inexperience. Sign a few guys to fill holes. Stay mostly away from trades, same reason. Don't move up in the draft on day one. Stay put no matter what. Same reason. They go through the offseason in a similar way my wife and sister in law would. Go through the motions afraid to make any mistakes.

They did a terrible job with surrounding the fraud w playmakers on offense, but these podcasts on the network will continue to ignore the obvious

The game was easily winnable if the highest paid player on the FIELD didnt play like the worst player on the field smh

While I agree with you on Dak for the most part.

You give any QB not named Mahomes the skill positions after Pollard and Lamb that Dak had to deal with this year and they fail too.

When Noah Brown is your number 2. There is a big problem. This FO let down all of the fans this season by once again sitting on their hands. There are only maybe 3 QBs in the league that could win important games with the slop we trotted out at WR. Burrow has 3 number 1s for cripes sake lol.

What does really suck is if Dak even had a mediocre game. We beat San Francisco. So regardless of what the FO does or doesnt do. Dak needs to be the guy. And he isnt. I am interested to see what a new scheme that is actually tailored to his strengths does for him.

Stephen has said time and again that the long run strategy is for the Cowboys to run a draft and develop team and fill in with cost effective FA. That is what they did last year and that is what they will do this season. If you don't like that move to the Eagles board and adopt the Eagles as your favorite team. Oh, they like their guys and will only do long term contracts for the ones that hit. Just the facts.

Man that just sounds scary when you say it like that. The “the highest paid player” on the field with all the talent between SF and some of our guys Dak was the highest paid….

That's not just what they did last year, that's what they've been doing for almost a decade now. They can't do what the Eagles do, because they're not good at it. That's why we've been lapped by them. I'd rather the Cowboys do what they're doing now than to attempt what the Eagles do and have three straight 5-11 seasons. Just like what they did in the past because Jerry isn't good at it.

I would say the Jones are amateurs
They certainly don't have the football acumen of other NFL GMs and their lack of post season success the last 28 years bears that out.

Yep, I’ve been thinking something similar.

The thought of being more aggressive is great, but do we really want to unleash these two on wheeling and dealing draft picks, and picking the right free agents?

They would absolutely be exposed and absolutely why they won’t do it.

They’ve gotten to where they are capable of good regular seasons more than every so often, but that’s probably the peak if there’s always going to be another few teams that are currently all in to win.

The Cowboys were two bad interceptions and an injury away from playing in the NFCCG. The Cowboys have enough talent to win the Super Bowl. Players who are paid franchise player salaries need to step up. The team is among the top 8 teams in the NFL.

Don’t get me wrong here, as I like you considerably more than I do Jerry and kid, but “amateur” by definition is someone who works for free.

While there are a lot of words that could be used to describe those two….the majority of which are probably banned here…amateur definitely ain’t one of them lol.

Oh wait….you meant it metaphorically…as in, they suck as NFL GMs due to not being qualified. Never mind. Yes they do!

Spoiler alert:

The scheme can't make Dak manifest talent where non exists.

No, you can't unleash them. They have never done well with risk during the salary cap era. They need people with more football knowledge to help them.

Jesse is the voice of the fans. He's my current favorite Cowboys analyst to listen to.

I never for one minute thought they could win the SB. I thought maybe they could lose in the NFCCG but that's it. And they couldn't even do that.

I mean amateur in the sense that they dont have the abilities or skillsets that professional GMs for other teams do.

Well if you pay Dak and Zeke top dollar shouldn’t you expect a Super Bowl? I know I do. I think the Joneses need to do more in free agency no doubt but if you pay record setting contracts to a running back and quarterback you should and need to expect to have Mahomes and Henry. Not Cousins and Gurley.
