If you get a chance, check out the podcast. Jesse Holley talked about how other teams were bettering themselves while we like our guys. Nothing he said was any different than what we've all said on here but the fact that he had the cajones to say what he did was quite impressive.
I guess this means he will be replaced on Cowboys Special Edition show next season.

I would say the Jones are amateurs
They certainly don't have the football acumen of other NFL GMs and their lack of post season success the last 28 years bears that out.

Success for Jerry and Stephen is completely different than success for you. He sees millions coming to him each year and the value of his franchise grows by a billion a year. In addition, he gets twice the media and fan interest than any other team. What's not to love about that at his age. Jerry is doing quite nicely whether his fans are or not.

Stephen has said time and again that the long run strategy is for the Cowboys to run a draft and develop team and fill in with cost effective FA. That is what they did last year and that is what they will do this season. If you don't like that move to the Eagles board and adopt the Eagles as your favorite team. Oh, they like their guys and will only do long term contracts for the ones that hit. Just the facts.
This is exactly what Jesse Holley said. He also said "When do we get actual developed players added to the personnel?" As he said "When you keep developing new players without getting already developed personnel, the team is always going to be developing and will get nowhere fast."

Yep, Jerry's perspective is the only that really matters at this point, unless the fans quit supporting the team financially.

The " we like our guys," strategy could work if the didn't fall in love with certain players and give them outlandish contracts they can't get out of.

No team would have given Lwerance or Zeke the contracts they did, or continously re-signing both Browns. You can get better than Toast Brown for cheaper. Noah is a special teams player at best, and not even our best one. Lewis is another contract that you should have never been resigned.

When they do sign free agents, they over pay. Same with trades they get fleeced.

the window was slammed shut in SF. The feeble attempt by MM to find lightning in a bottle offensively is a day late and a dollar short. THAT and Dak isnt the answer. MM should have changed the scheme DAY 1.

They drafted quite well the last few years. They have 3 players coming up for new contracts which will take most of their future cap space after they restructure Dak for additional years. They continue to just love their draft guys. They won't overpay for other teams castoffs.

Man that just sounds scary when you say it like that. The “the highest paid player” on the field with all the talent between SF and some of our guys Dak was the highest paid….
To be fair, any QB on non-rookie contract will be the highest plaid player. But agree that even a mediocre game from Dak and we win.

They did a terrible job with surrounding the fraud w playmakers on offense, but these podcasts on the network will continue to ignore the obvious

The game was easily winnable if the highest paid player on the FIELD didnt play like the worst player on the field smh
You all good except one thing homie... these guys spoke more than once about how badly Dak played, they haven't ignored it.

So all of this boils down to the Jones' don't know how to pay their players.

We liked an injured guy who wasn’t going to be able to play for the first few games of the regular season better than Cedrick Wilson and Amari Cooper. That was the biggest mistake we made the entire offseason. While Philly added a major weapon at WR, we lost a couple. Gallup ended up being a huge disappointment. Our offense killed us in the playoffs. Gallup didn’t have a single catch against San Francisco. Having only one real quality WR contributed to Dak’s INTs. Having to look for Noah Brown in some critical situations didn’t help us.

Note to Stephen: if you are going to build solely through the draft and “develop” players then don’t keep wasting early round draft picks on questionable players: Taco Charlton, Jaylon Smith, Kelvin Joseph. You’re killing us Smalls!
