What a difference both being back made. Granted TB isn't exactly great at running the ball.

Hankins Showed some nice moves on that sack. Were gonna need him next week against a physical 49ers team. If he can provide even a little bit of a pass rush up the middle as well that will be huge.

LVE helped in the run and coverage.

LVE has been having a very good year, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

LVE was all over the place in coverage and pursuit. Also to his credit the blown coverages and botched gap assignments were much reduced.

Hankins had a lesser impact. The DT who stepped up was Osa who held his ground inside better than he has all year. Gholston also needs credit.

If we can slow down the SF run and put it on Purdy I like our chances next week.

LVE has one disastrous season when we had that bum Nolan running the D. Other than that one bad season, LVE has been awesome (rookie season), or he's been solid. I have been a lurker on this forum for more years than I can count, and the hate for LVE has always had me puzzled. We can't employ All-Pro players at every position. LVE is more than JAG and I'd like to see him re-signed if it's a team friendly deal. He's the QB of the defense.

LvE in particular was everywhere tonight, and has been a huge asset all season. The fact that the defense took a nosedive while he was out is not a coincidence.

This is something fans sometimes overlook. He makes the line calls when he sees the alignment, and it matters.

It sucks that LVE is playing with a fused vertebrae, because there is no telling how good he would have been without the neck issue causing certain problems in how he hits and probably neck extension and flexion, He was nothing like Jaylon Smith as he actually has the football intelligence while Smith was pure athleticism at his peak.
