Hannibal, anyone watch this?

We don't know who will play Agent Starling yet do we?

There will likely be no agent Starling, in name at least.

There are weird copyright issues with Silence of the Lambs and they are not allowed to use any of those names. So unless something changes (which seems unlikely at this point) whoever Agent Starling is, will have a different name, as will Buffalo Bill, etc. So Buffalo bill will likely be a different serial killer, and I'm sure they'll change his MO, and Starling will go by a different name. Plenty of change already.

So far they've done a fantastic job of separating themselves from the movies, so I kind of trust them to take it where they want to go. Silence of the Lambs is projected to be season 5, with Hannibal being 6, and an ending being season 7.

They are going to have to be very careful when they do the Silence of the Lambs part; they need to change it enough so that there is no real comparison with the movie. Because with all due respect, these guys are not in Foster's or Hopkins league.

Hopkins and Mikkleson play two rather different versions of the character. Hopkins was iconic, but I certainly wouldn't say Mikkleson is playing the role anything less than stellar. He has totally owned it, and his version of the character is rather refreshing.

As for Foster, she was great, and Silence of the Lambs was a better movie than Hannibal.. but I absolutely preferred Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling, though Foster is a better actress (by far). Julianne Moore is far closer to how I envisioned Starling in the books.

I absolutely hope they go the route of the Hannibal novel, over the Hannibal movie. The endings are COMPLETELY different.

I've heard that about the ending. I haven't read the book, but the ending sounded great.

Red Dragon is essentially a remake of Manhunter, but Red Dragon did it much better. Also, the actor who played Hannibal in Manhunter is awful. Mikkleson in the show, however, is brilliant.
