I remember seeing him advertising some kind of woodworking gear or something along those lines in the back pages of "sports afield" magazine and other similar outdoor mags,,I think even while he was still playing.

(I was checking out the photograph of him,,,he's girded up for war in the trenches,,, check out the taped fingers/ battle scarred helmet)

Bob Lilly excelled both as a player and a human being as well. He always treated everyone he met as a friend. I've nothing but respect for him! He signed a book for me once and stayed hours late in the bookstore, just so everyone had a chance to get their book signed. He was extremely outgoing and polite to everyone there. I had heard that about him and he lives up to that reputation. A gentlemen's gentleman is what he is!
