Bob Lilly excelled both as a player and a human being as well. He always treated everyone he met as a friend. I've nothing but respect for him! He signed a book for me once and stayed hours late in the bookstore, just so everyone had a chance to get their book signed. He was extremely outgoing and polite to everyone there. I had heard that about him and he lives up to that reputation. A gentlemen's gentleman is what he is!

I count myself as a lucky guy to have watched Lilly play the game. He was a great player and a special man.
