Happy birthday Mazi Smith

If he makes as much improvement this year as last year over his rookie year he can help this team. He may never live up to a first rnd pick but he might be a decent player
Agree.

He's been serviceable. I'm more worried if Guyton can improve. I think Mazi will. We at least know he trains pretty hard.

I'm not going to predict a breakout season but I wouldn't be surprised.

I know he has pride and he's aware of the general opinion about him.

I remember everybody jumping on Dorrance Armstrong in his first couple of years. It really does take a few years to play that position in the NFL unless you are generational. Well, Mazi isn't that but he has improved, especially during the back end of the season.

Happy Birthday Mazi, with 15 minutes left.

Now go home!

I'd say Mazi may be a candidate for most improved player of the year in 2025 but who knows?
Lord knows he's starting at the bottom, so incredible improvement is virtually a given -- I think?
In addition, seeing that he's currently being honored for his birthday is proof of his rise to fame! :muttley:

LT and DT are really hard positions to come from college and play great at. One or two rookie DT’s a year come in and have a big impact, same at LT. The rest hsve to learn more to succeed at this level. DT’s have to learn more ways to beat guys and get stronger. In college they didn’t play the talent each week they face in nfl. I think both will be better. I don’t think either will ever be elite but if they can be avg then that’s huge
