Sorry to hear about your son. Ill make sure to include you and your family in my prayers today.

Sincere thanks. You at least get church;)

Just hug your kids and realize they won't be with you forever.

All that said, 3 hours on a regular basis would be way to long me for me as well:D I was just warning my other boy who is a teen as well and dating a nice girl that he ALWAYS has to remember that if he ever thinks about marriage, you don't only marry the woman, you marry her family as well LOL

The irony is my hometown is a couple of hours north west of Philly, were I grew up Russian Orthodox.

I moved to the Bible belt 20 years ago, and finally after leaving a methodist church down here, now go to a pretty cool technically Baptist church (way too much fire and brimstone down south for me, I don't need to told I'm going to hell LOL).

3 hours on a regular Sunday would be way to long for me. Heck, I go to church wearing shorts and sandals most of the time anyways.

However, you're with your family during this time, and don't forget that. I lost my one 16 year old boy this year, and I'd give ANYTHING to be able to spend 3 hours in church with him one more time to tell him how much he means to me;)
May God bless your son and your entire family.

What I am most thankful for this Easter, is that I do not have to trust in my ability to be good enough for God to like me. I've abandoned all my hope in my own goodness, and trust completely that what Jesus did on the cross cleansed me in the eyes of God. When Jesus rose again, He was victorious over all sins ever committed, (Heb 10:12) and He has victory over death as well. What a wonderful, overwhelming goodness compared to our worst sins! It makes the cost of being in church for 3 hours a very small sacrifice on my part, I am so thankful!

Thanks for sharing this perspective which is the most important perspective of all !
So easy to get caught up in the trivial, that we lose sight of the fact that we all face eternity.
Jesus makes our eternal security secure and firm.
Lets all ponder and consider this.
