I know this is a day late, but I've been remarried for just under two years. Yesterday, my wife's daughter (my stepdaughter?) came by with her family to have a steak dinner and we went to a local arcade place. It's the kind of place you pay one price and play all the classic arcade games. Anyway, she told me in front of everyone, that she wished I would have been her father growing up. She is 35 years old! Made my heart melt.
My wife has repeatedly said her daughter is a envious of my relationship with my daughter as my step-daughter had a "different" relationship with her own father. He basically caused her to become an alcoholic as he would drink with her when she was only 11 years old and did this for years.
