What many people don't know is that was the 2nd flag raising. Someone thought the first flag was too small and very hard to see at distance, so he ordered a larger flag raised. The famous photo and video was a result of the 2nd flag raising.

We just had a 6.6 Earthquake here in Socal. I guess it’s time to party now.

The 4th got off to a real bang in Southern California we just had a 6.4 earthquake. It was centered near Ridgecrest California in the Mojave Desert.

Seeing all kinds of reports from SD all the way over to Vegas. They are expecting another big one, like an 80% chance.

Been watching the news marinating the steaks before I leave for a pool party (no holiday weekends at the river for me anymore), and they’ve been saying the prediction system is telling them there will be another large quake of 6.4 between now and the next week.

On a side note:

The scientists from Caltech are a national treasure. They’re like a fat kid in a candy store right now. Such corky funny people who live for this stuff, and it really shows.
