You didn't get my question? It wasn't complicated.
You're right. It wasn't. I did not get the relevancy of the question. Ergo, the  .

Independence day is the celebration of the birth of our country/signing of the Declaration of Independence. I would have thought it's relevance would be pretty clear.

Agreed. It's relevance is reflected by the number of members who answered the question.

People not responding doesn't have anything to do with the questions relevance. Independence Day is about the birth of our country the Revolutionary War being how we won that independence.

If you don't know the answer that is fine. It is clear you don't understand the relevance and honestly that is sad.

I've recently found out that my ancestors (The Yeager side) came here in 1717 so they may have fought but I don't know for sure.

That is cool. I found my earliest ancestors came to this country in 1700 on my mothers side. Genealogy fascinates me.

Did they immigrate to one of the upper or lower colonies? You better not say they took up residence in Memphis! :p:

LOL I don't think Memphis was existed then. They came from Germany and settled in Virginia. Then spread west.

Also check out your local library or ancestory.com. A lot of time you find muster lists for the wars, pension documents, etc.

I still live in the same area my family settled in all those years ago, so the library helped me too. If you live in the same area that could be helpful. Sometimes libraries will send you info from their genealogy libraries if you ask them. The library in my town will do that. It likely depends on there level of help and resources though.
