Normally there was never a need for this but in the last few years, the deadline has been more active and some reports today suggest you could see a flurry of moves before 4PM today.

- We already know that the Cowboys could be looking for safety help after acquiring Bennett at DE/DT.

- Schefter reported that the Patriots and Eagles might be the most active. Patriots still looking for WR help, Eagles said to be inquiring about Robbie Anderson at WR and Chris Harris or Darius Slay at CB.

FWIW, I still wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a real slobber knocker at DT still if the price was cheap. I still don't think we are stout enough inside but I suspect they will roll with what they have.

I'd bet on the Eagles getting something done to upgrade at cornerback.

As for the Cowboys? I don't expect them to change how little they regard the defensive tackle and safety positions so I don't have my hopes up for a trade.

Exciting times.

We'll trade Devin Smith to the Pats for a 1st. Trade Redman to the Browns for a 3rd. Trade Schultz to the Bucs for Howard.

To me, as long as the Eagles don't do anything, I'd consider that a good day for us even if we don't make a trade.

Harris or Slay would help fix the one real weakness they have on defense.

Word is WR will be one of the strongest, if not the strongest position in the 2020 draft. I think a number of teams wanna move vets so they can find younger/cheaper WR via draft.

A good point and it makes sense, especially for teams like the Jets going nowhere this year.

The one real weakness? Zeke destroyed them on the ground.

One game. They have pretty much contained every one else they have played including Buffalo this week and they held the Vikings to just under 100 yards rushing and 3.5 ypc when they were running all over teams.

Run defense isn't their problem. Pass D is their clear problem (and their pass rush isn't exactly great either).

tell that to doug pedersen.

Case in point. His talk didn't make a win happen either did it?

But just when we think the Eagles are ready to collapse, they go into Buffalo and get a solid win.

Sounds about right -- the Cowboys' FO relish making comments to make them sound relevant in terms of welcoming trade deadline signees but when it comes to following through with proof, that's another matter. Comments about obtaining safety help are essentially made to appease fans who hunger for results to follow these words of encouragement.

Eagles are going to come away today with Slay and Robby Anderson :(

I'm cool with them giving up a premium pick for Robby. They already have DeSean so it's pretty redundant, and it would likely end up just like the Golden Tate trade did for them.

WRs are much harder to plug and play than other positions.
